Mechanism of
Action
Ascorbic acid is a
functional and
principal in vivo form
of vitamin C, an
essential water-soluble
vitamin which is
fundamental in the
synthesis of collagen
and intercellular
materials. Promotes
normal biochemical
reactions, strengthens
the immune system,
supports normal
growth and
development and
helps prevent growth
retardation in children
and young adult.
Zinc is necessary for
the proper functioning
of over 200
metalloenzymes,
including carbonic
Indication
Prevention of
vitamin c

Special
Precautions
Vit. C should be
given with care
to patients with
hyperoxaluria.

Lysine is an essential
amino acid for normal
growth and
development. It plays
an essential role in the
production of
carnitine, a nutrient
responsible for
converting fatty acids
into energy, which
helps to lower
cholesterol. It reduces
the availability of
arginine in herpes
virus-infected cells
resulting in slower
viral replication. It also
helps in the absorption
of calcium.
Taurine, 2aminoethane sulfonic
acid, is a conditionally
essential amino acid
derived from
methionine and
cysteine metabolism.
Unlike true amino
acids, it is not
incorporated into
proteins and is one of
the most abundant
free amino acids found
in various tissues e.g.
retina, brain, skeletal
and cardiac muscles. It
