globally since the demand for plant based flavours,
fragrances and phytochemicals has increased
tremendously. It is possible to enter into commercially
viable ventures in the area of medicinal and aromatic
plants. CSIR-CIMAP (Central Institute of Medicinal and
Aromatic Plants) is a premier institute under CSIR
(Council of Scientific and Industrial Research). CSIRCIMAP has developed necessary expertise in agro and
processing technologies of medicinal and aromatic
plants. CSIR-CIMAP periodically conducts programmes
to upgrade the skills of entrepreneurs in the area of
medicinal and aromatic plants.

The two-day Training Programme on Improved


Production Technologies of Medicinal and Aromatic
Plants will cover both theory and practical aspects of
agro and processing technologies of some
commercially important medicinal and aromatic plants
of South India. The programme will also deliberate
upon marketing and financial aspects. The programme
