Project Briefing:
The Project of SOUTHERN OIL COMPANY in Iraq aimed to establish the reliability of the existing pipeline system infrastructure
among main terminals of onshore Fao Oil Storage Terminal (FOT), offshore Al Basrah Oil Terminal (BOT) and offshore Khor Al
Amaya Terminal (KAAT). SPM is installed to keep the same existing export volumes during condition check of an existing pipeline.
The envisioned loading operation system requires as early as possible for normal operation, installation of a new 48 " pipeline,
two valve station platforms (VS1 at BOT and VS2 at KAAT) and one SPM loading terminal. The 48 new pipeline is to be set up at
the new valve station VS1 and branched to the existing BOT Loading Platform-A and the new SPM loading terminal. Moreover,
the 48 pipeline is to be branched to another new valve station platform VS2 to be installed near KAAT terminal so as to
interconnect and permit crude loading at the KAAT with this additional pipeline route.

CEYLON PETROLEUM CORPORATION have appointed OFNIR Engineering SDN BHD for undertaking Integrity assessment study of the
SPM system, inspection services on the SPM, cost breakdowns for refurbishments, a multiproduct feasibility study and third party
certification.
OFNIR conducted an integrity study of existing SPM system in Colombo Port in Sri Lanka which comprises of SPM, Floating hoses,
under buoy hoses, PLEM and mooring hawsers. Ceylon Petroleum Corporation Limited is planning to augment their existing Single
Point Mooring (SPM) Terminal to meet the crude requirement of their existing as well as future crude processing requirements. For
this, CPC proposes to install a new Single Point Mooring (SPM) buoy off the coast of Colombo Port, which will also be used to unload
multi products. The new SPM buoy will be installed where the water depth is about 95 feet (29m), at a distance of about 9.6 Km from
the coast. Crude from SPM buoy will be pumped and transported via the existing 36 inch NB pipeline from SPM buoy to storage tanks
located onshore. The offshore section of the pipeline route is about 9.6 km from SPM buoy to LFP (Land Fall Point).
