Crop Yield (Metric Tons Per Hectare) Total Production Area Harvested

This document provides crop yield data and ratings for 47 major and priority crops in the Philippines. It identifies the national average yield for each crop from 2002-2006 and provides a rating scale to evaluate if a crop's yield is below, within, or above average. Crop yields are calculated based on total production divided by the area harvested. An example is provided showing a mango yield of 6.25 metric tons per hectare, which is rated as "within national average" according to the scale. Key crops included are cereals, fruit crops, non-food and industrial crops, and vegetables; with major crops making up 95% of agricultural production.

CROP YIELD (yield per hectare in metric tons of 47 major and priority crops)

1. Identify the top three crops in your LGU.

2. Determine yield per crop using the following formula:
Crop Yield (metric tons per hectare) =

Total production
Area harvested

Example:
Crop 1: Mango =

125 metric tons

20 hectares

= 6. 25 metric tons per hectare

3. Get the corresponding description of the computed yield per crop from the Crop
Yield Rating Table below.
In the above example, crop yield for mango is within national average.
