Generationsofpeoplehavebeenbornintothissocietywheremanrulestheworld
throughhisownsystems.Menmakeupthelawsbywhichwearetoliveandset
thelifestylewehavecometoknowasourculture.Unfortunatelythosethat
governusareforthemostpartthecurseddescendantsoffallenAdamandso
theirjudgment,understandingandmoralsaretaintedwithknowledgefedtothem
throughSatanandhisevilworldoffallenspirits.Godtakesadimviewofallthis
andisdeterminedtoestablishHisKingdomonthisplanetthroughHis
government.WhereisHisgovernment?HowwillHeaccomplishthis?The
answeris,throughthebodyofChrist.Yousee,theHolySpiritentersthosethat
loveHim,whileevilspiritsenterthosewholovetheworldanditspleasures.
WhenthosethatarepossessedbytheHolySpiritcometogetherinoneaccord,
theyformonebody,thebodyofChrist.Whenthosepossessedbyevilspiritsare
focusedandinoneaccord,theyalsoformabodythatisagainstthebodyof
Christ.TheyareAntiChrist.TheAdamicgovernmentsofthisworldarethehead
ofthebodyofAntiChrist.LiketheirfatherSatan,thesegovernmentsappearas

angelsoflight,butarereallyagentsofdeathanddestruction.Ontheotherhand,
thosecalledtotheofficesofthefivefoldministryfoundinEphesians4:11,form
theheadofthebodyofChristandareGodsanswertoHisgovernmenthereon
earth.ItsthegovernmentofGodagainstthegovernmentofSatan.Thebattleis
on,JesusChristagainstAntiChrist,throughman.Orwecansayitthisway,its
theKingdomoflightagainstthekingdomofdarkness,throughhumanity.Weall
prettymuchunderstandhowmansgovernmentworks,butourinterestisin
GodsgovernmentandHisKingdom,sowewillbeginourstudyonthe
governmentofGodbylookingattheofficeoftheApostle.

THEAPOSTLETHEFOUNDATIONLAYER

TheApostleisrepresentedbythethumbonthehandofGod.Thethumbisthe
onlyfingerthatcantouchalltheotherfingers.Thismeanstheapostletoadegree
canwalkinanyoftheoffices.Maybenotwithquitethesameanointingand
authorityasapersonholdingaparticularoffice,butnevertheless,enoughtodo
aboutanythingtheLordneedsdoneiftheotherofficesarenotavailable.Thisis
whytheyareafoundationlayerforbuildingtheKingdomofGod.They,along
withtheprophetscanestablishaworkanddothejobuntilGodbringsintherest
oftheteam.WiththisappendageinplacethehandofGodcanmakeafistand

poweragainsttherulersofdarknessisreleasedtorestore,renew,establishand
regaindominionoverthisplanet.Withouttherestorationoftheofficeofapostle,
oranyoneoftheofficesforthatmatter,thegovernmentofGodisincomplete
andfragmented.

ThenumbertwelveissymbolicofgovernmentintheBibleandweseethatthe
firstapostleswerethatexactnumber.Theywereevenknownasthetwelvebythe
peopleoftheirday.Thesegallantmenweremartyredandsowntothegroundso
thatalatterendtimeharvestofapostlescouldcomeforthevenmorefruitful,
basedonthespirituallawfoundatJohn12:24.

24Mostassuredly,Isaytoyou,unlessagrainofwheatfallsintotheground
anddies,itremainsalonebutifitdies,itproducesmuchgrain.

Whataretheseendtimeapostleslike?Wellforonething,liketheirpredecessors,
theanointingthatisontheirlivescanrestoreanoldhouseofGod,orbuildanew
one.TheapostleisoneofGodsgreatestweaponsagainstreligionandtradition,
andinfactallcarnality.Theyinsistonholinessandseparationforthetrue
church.Soalongwiththeprophetstheydonotmindabitrippingupandpulling

outthedrossandmoldthathastaintedthechurchforsolong.Theywilldefend
truthandspirituallawandnotbeafraidofreligiousleaderswithbigfollowings,
moneyorpowerthatcomeagainstthem.

Apostles,alongwiththeprophetshavethegiftingtounderstandtherhemaword
andsoareinstrumentalinrestoringtruth,whichhasbeenlostorforgottenasthe
churchwentthroughthedarkages,andtheywilldosoatallcosts.Theyarequite
unafraidtoattackfalsedoctrinesandcriticizemanstradition.Wheretraveling
ministersinthepastforthemostparthavebeenafraidtospeakatruththatmay
offendthepeople,thelatterdayapostle,liketheearlychurch,willtellitlikeit
is,regardlessoftheconsequences.ThisisthenatureofGodoperatingthrough
theApostolicandpropheticpeople.ThesoftnessoftheLambisevidenttolove
andcarefortheflockofGod,buttheaggressionandboldnessoftheLion
opposestheenemy.

Apostlesareawareandunderstandthatthespiritsthatareoperatingthroughthe
complacentandlukewarmchurchtodayarenodifferentfromthespiritsofthe
oldchurch.Thesespiritscausepeopletohaveeyes,butnotsee,andearsthat
donthear.Thereisaspiritualdullness.Thentherearethosewhoaresocaught
upinworldlinessthattheyhavenointerestinthethingsofGodatall.Butyou

see,judgmentcannotcometoeventhosethathavenolovefortruthwithoutthem
firstbeinggiventheopportunitytoacceptitorrejectit.Inotherwords,the
apostlesputthetruthoutthereforall,butdonotexpecteveryonetoeagerlyhear
oracceptit.Somethattheyministerthewordtowillturnouttobewhitewashed
graves,abroodofvipers,onesthatcannothearGodswordsthroughtheir
messagejustlikeJesussaidmanyofthoseintheearlychurchwere.Healsosaid
manyyearsagothatthiskindarenotHissheepsothewordisgiventothesefor
judgmentonly,butitmustbegiventoappeasethescriptureinMatthew24:14.

nations,andthentheendwillcome.

So,alongwithGodsprophets,theapostlesmessageisoneoflifeeternalor
destructiontothosetheypreachto.Thetwoedgedswordisintheirmouthasthe
truthcutsyouoff,orbringsyouhealing.LikeApostlePaulsaidat1
Thessalonians2:4.

Theyarecompelledtospeaktruth,thefullgospel,tomankind.Thisisthemark
ofGodstruesentones.Hehasneversentfalsedoctrineorwatereddowntruth
toHispeoplethroughHismessengers!Theearlyapostleswereseverely
threatenedandtoldnottospeakinthenameofJesusorteachanydoctrinethat
wascontrarytothereligionandtraditionoftheday,butletslookattheir
responseinActs5:29:

ItiswiththissametenacitythattruthisspokenthroughtheApostlestoday.
ApostlesPeterandJohnatanotherincidencewherethereligiousleadershad
forbiddenthemtospeak,toldthosethatopposedthem,Whetheritisrightin
thesightofGodtolistentoyoumorethantoGod,youjudge!

Jesusspokeonlytruth.Heneverdilutedit,andHismessagewasconsideredhard
bythosewholikedtheirlifethewayitwasanddidntfavorchange.

OTHERATTRIBUTESOFTHEAPOSTLE

Theapostleisalsoachampionoffaith.IftheBibletellsthemathingcanbe
done,theybelieveitandactuponit.ThepromisesGodmadetoAbrahamandhis
seedarerealtotheapostle,andareexpectedtohappen,becauseitisGodwho
madethesepromises.TheirFathersaidso,andthatsgoodenoughforthem.
TheyhavetheanointingtounitetheBodyofChristandwalkasGods
commandersandchiefs,unitingGodsarmiesandteachingthemtotrustand
followGod.TheywieldaspiritualGodgivenauthoritytobringfreedomtothe
flockthroughtheministryofIsaiah61,thushelpingthechurchtoexperiencethe
feastofatonement,andvictoryoverthepowersandprincipalities,therulersof
darknessandevilspiritsthathavebeenholdingthemcaptive.Infact,theministry
oftheapostlewillhavealargepartinpreparingthechurchtoexperiencethefinal
feasts.GodwillsoonbereceivingaBridewithoutspotorwrinkle,andseparated
fromtheworldbecauseoftheuncompromisingnatureofthosecalledtothe
apostolicoffice.

IfyoulookupthewordapostleintheStrongsConcordance,youwillseeitis
number652intheGreek.Youwillgetanevenbetterpictureofthenatureand

abilityoftheapostles.Theyare:adelegateorambassadorofficially
commissionedbyChristwithmiraculouspowers.Itgoesto649,meaningtobe
sentoutorsentforth,to575meaningtheyareseparated,theybringcompletion
andreversalbythecessationofsinandhypocrisy.Itgoesto4724meaningto
repressorabstainfromassociatingwith,toavoidandwithdrawself,to2476
meaningtostand,abide,appoint,bringorcontinuecovenant.Itiscomparedto
5087meaningtoplaceinapassiveorhorizontalposition.Inotherwords,those
calledtobeapostles,liketheotheroffices,mustdietothemselvessoChristcan
bewhoHeisinthem.Theymustbeseparate,setaside,abletostandadversity
withoutbeingdiscouragedinordertokeeptheflockofGodtogetherwhenunder
trial.

Itgoesontodescribe,utterlyprostrateinposition.These,asjuststated,mustdie
totheirdesires,theirlifestyle,theiropinions,theiragendas,anddothingsGods
way.Theyhavetolayasidetheirneedforfameandrecognition,theiregostobe
patted,ortohavelargenumbersoffollowers.Theymustbecontenttohavetheir
worksdestroyedsoHecanperformHisworksthroughthem,bringinggloryto
Hisnameonly.Swallowingtheiregoisthehardestonefortheapostolicto
accomplish.Theyareamongthefirsttostartawork,butthosethatarebroughtin
tohelpmanytimesgetthecredit,atleastbyman.Ifthisisimportanttoonethat

iscalledtotheofficeofapostle,theywillprobablyneverbechosentofulfillthe
office.

INCLOSING

Wherewillyoufindtheapostlestoday?Youwillfindthemlayingthefoundation
ofthechurchtriumphant,thechurchofthefirstborn,oryoucouldsay,the
churchofAbrahamsseed.YouwillfindthemestablishingbusinessforGods
KingdombasedonGodlyprinciplesandspirituallaw.Behindthescenesyouwill
alsofindthemprayingandcoveringGodsflockandbattlingthepowersof
darknessthatwouldinterfereandtrytostoptheadvancementofGodsKingdom.
Withtherestorationoftheapostolicandtheprophetictherecanbenostopping
thebodyofChrist.Godthroughtheapostlesisthecloudbydaytocoverand
protect,andGodthroughthepropheticisthefirebynighttoleadthewayto
eternity.Howcanwelose!
