knowledge. I also declare that the photographs submitted with this form are a true likeness of me. I confirm that if, before
my application is decided, there is a material change in my circumstances or new information relevant to this application
becomes available, I will inform the Spouse of an Irish National Section of the Department of Justice and Equality in writing
immediately. I understand that any false or misleading information or fraudulent supporting documentation submitted will
result in the refusal of this application.
I understand that, under Section 8 of the Immigration Act 2003 the data in this application may be disclosed to other Irish
Government Departments, Government Agencies and/or An Garda Sochna for purposes connected with this or any other
application. I consent to INIS making enquiries to confirm any of the details or documents provided by me in this application,

APPLICATION FOR A RESIDENCE PERMISSION FOR SPOUSE/CIVIL PARTNER OF AN IRISH NATIONAL

1. Who should apply?
This form is to be completed by the spouse of an Irish National applying for permission to remain in the State on the basis of
Marriage/Civil Partnership to an Irish National as set out in Policy Document on Non-EEA Family Reunification available at
INIS website
http://inis.gov.ie. .
This form applies only to persons that do not have current permission in the State

If you need to contact the Spouse of Irish National Unit regarding your application you can do so by post at the above address or by
email at inissinu@justice.ie. Please ensure that you include your name, your date of birth, your INIS Person ID number, and your
Application ID number in all correspondence.
3. Application times
Due to the large volume of applications it can take 6 to 9 months for an application to be finalised, however a decision will be taken
on an application no later than 12 months from the date of receipt of a fully completed application form. All applications are dealt
with strictly in chronological order of the date of receipt.
4. Changes in circumstances
If your circumstances change (such as a change of address, a change in family status, or a change in the activities of the Irish
National) you must inform the Spouse of Irish National Unit in writing immediately. Failure to do so may result in your application
being refused.
Please be advised that the onus is on you to keep this office updated regarding your circumstances and to resubmit any relevant
supporting documents in relation to new circumstances. It should be noted that a person who asserts an entitlement to any rights
under the Regulations on the basis of information which he or she knows to be false or misleading in a material particular, or fails to
comply with any requirement of the Regulations, shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on summary conviction to a fine not
exceeding 5,000 or to a term of imprisonment not exceeding 12 months, or both.
The obligation is on the applicant at all times to provide satisfactory evidence as outlined below and to notify this office of any
changes to their circumstances in accordance with Regulation 11(2) and 11(4) of the Regulations.

(c) Evidence of residence of applicant and Irish National in the State
If renting, copies of the following documents should be provided:
Utility bills in the names of both the applicant and the Irish National, also bank statement showing rent payments
If home-owning, copies of the following documents should be provided:
Utility bills in the names of both the applicant and the Irish national, also bank statement showing mortgage
payments
Other evidence of residence may be considered if deemed satisfactory. If you are not renting or a homeowner, then
the person you are living with should provide the above documents with a written declaration of your residence from
the landlord or homeowner in addition to any other evidence of your residence.
(d) Evidence of current activities of the Irish National in the State
If the Irish National is in employment, copies of the following documents should be provided:
Current letter from employer setting out terms and conditions of employment OR signed contract of employment
Bank Statements for applicant and Irish National for the last 6 months
If the Irish National is self-employed, copies of the following documents should be provided:
Agreed Tax Assessment from the Revenue Commissioner for the last financial year (if applicable) OR Letter of
Registration for Self-Assessment (Income Tax) from the Revenue Commissioner
Bank Statements for applicant and Irish National for the last 6 months
If the Irish National is studying, copies of the following documents should be provided:
Current letter from college/course provider including start date and expected completion date
Letter from private medical insurance provider for Irish National and Spouse
Current letter from Department of Social Protection with details of current welfare payments
Current letter from Employment Services Office acknowledging registration as a jobseeker if applicable
Bank Statements for applicant and Irish National for the last 6 months
If the Irish National has sufficient resources, copies of the following documents should be provided:
Current letter from Department of Social Protection, with details of current welfare payments, or stating that there
are no welfare payments (as applicable)
Letter from private medical insurance provider for Irish national and Spouse
Note: If for any reason you cannot supply some or all of the required documentation above, you should provide an
explanation in Section 4 of application form. Provision of some or all of the above documentation is not a guarantee of a
successful application.
