Inerting of Ballast Tanks Procedures

There are two methods for inerting ballast tanks on the M.T. Gulf Mist. The first method can be used when tanks are either empty or ballasted, while the second method is only for empty tanks. Both methods involve connecting inert gas lines to the tank, venting one side while blanking the other, and venting inert gas into the tank through a pressure/vacuum valve until inerted.
