    STARDUST REACTION PAPER

    "Stardust" is a film of humor and imagination, with an exceptional
    cast. The movie is set in a time past, a never-never land, a once
    upon a timea Victorian-flavored world with a medieval tone. The
    costumes are imaginative and lush, and the stone construction of
    the village adds to the fairytale feel of the movie. The special
    effects are well done, and the interiors dark and richly detailed.
    It's a charming and smartly plotted fantasy that follows several
    characters, each in hot pursuit of something essential to their
    survival. "Stardust" sets up a story in which everyone has a selfish
    motive for finding and possessing the star. Tristan is motivated by
    love. Three witch sisters needs the star to regain her youth. And
    an evil prince, Septimus, needs a medallion worn by the star,
    without which he can't take possession of his father's throne. The
    star itself is not a thing but a person. Her name is Yvaine, and she
    wants

    to

    get

    back

    to

    her

    place

    in

    the

    skies.

    Though the special effects are at times a little more elaborate


    than necessary, they don't overwhelm the story's human scale. At
    one point in the movie, our main characters are plucked from the
    sky by a floating dirigible/pirate sky ship. It is filled with
    prerequisite nasty men who merrily rip off treasure from the
    clouds. Harvested and bottled lightning bolts can be traded for
    anything. The Captain, who seemed like a tough guy, turned out
    to be a real feminine personality.

    Overall, the movie was funny and it takes you to a different world
    filled with numerous fantasies.

    CINDERELLA REACTION PAPER

    The Cinderella movie is the ultimate tale of good and evil, of


    tragedy and triumph. As the Cinderella tale unfolds, we are
    offered important insights: life is not always fair and difficult
    circumstances befall good people.
    It teaches us that we can make good choices when faced with
    tough circumstances as well as Ellas mothers parting message of
    Have courage and be kind is wonderful and something we
    should really all embrace. It opened up a good conversation about
    manners, ethics and respect in our household.
    But the highlight of the film is fairy god mother Helen Bonham
    Carter who steals everyones thunder when she turns a pumpkin
    into a gold chariot with the mice as horses and lizards and ducks
    as Cinderellas entourage.
    Together they drive her golden pumpkin a la mode to the ball
    given by the king. The purpose of the ball is to find a bride for the
    prince whose heart is spent pining for a young lass he met in the
    woods while hunting. He never learned her name.

    But as we all know this lass was Ella, who later is dubbed
    Cinderella due to nights sleeping by the fire while its cinders leave
    smudges of charcoal on her face.
