0. Case Study
Discussion and implementation of a real-life project (Scenario 1) to give an overall sense
of the entire course. This will give you a picture of a BI Developer on a project,
highlighting on the tasks that most functional BI consultants are involved on a day-to-day
basis. After this demonstration, we delve into the syllabus below, pointing out the
underlying intricacies of the BI project we just implemented (Scenario 1).

Demystifying the buzz words: ERP, ETL, Master Data, Transactional data, Meta data,

2. General Practical Overview of the System environment
Exploring the system Environment as a beginner: Logon, Navigation, Transaction Codes,
Business Content and Metadata Repository, System Landscape/Transports, etc
3. Business Content and Metadata Repository
Installing BI Content and Exploring the metadata
4. BI Modeling
Creating InfoObjects (Characteristics & Key Figures), DataStore objects, InfoCubes,
InfoSets, MultiProviders, Master data- texts, Attributes, Hierarchies
6. BI Reporting
Reporting features & properties; Rows, columns, Free Characteristics, Filters,
BEx Query Designer: Queries, Workbooks Restricting Characteristics, Formulas and
Exception Cells; Defining Exceptions, Conditions, Restricted and Calculated Key
