Lying is easier than admitting the truth, but it is a natural part of life. White lies told to children, like those about Santa Claus, are generally harmless. However, other lies told to cover up mistakes or blame others can undermine trust. While lying may seem like an easy way to escape problems in the short term, it often does more harm than good in the long run. Specifically, lying to harm or mislead others indicates a poor character and will damage relationships and reputation. Overall, the essay argues that people should try to limit lying and only tell white lies that do not hurt others or have serious consequences.

Lying

English Essay
A lie is easier to tell than to admit but it is a part of our life. From the beginning of our lives we have
lived inside lies but, we didnt really mind that happened when we understood they were lies because,
they were what we call white lies , lies told to us to change or improve something in the reality we live.
But apart from white lies like the Santa Claus one, we have lies made up by our brain , sometimes
without predicting the consequences , that are created to cover up mistakes, get somebody to be
blamed for something they didnt do. These lies are what make people that tell them loose the trust
they get from others. So, having both sides of the coin a question rises : Is lying the answer to our
problems ?
Firstly, we all have the conscience that lying will bring no good to us but sometimes it is the only way to
escape a situation . Sometimes it is good to avoid something by lying in order to focus on our main goal
that might be anything.
On the other hand thought, this is a difficult thing to say because someones goal may be causing chaos .
In this case nothing can justify the lies told to achieve the goal because the goal itself is wrong from the
beginning. So discussing the lying or not cause we should also remind ourselves that not all people
search for the same source of happiness and achievement so, we should keep in mind the argument of
what is wrong and right in this world but , thats another essay.
So, staying in the theme lying to someone who is nave or has just a lack of knowledge about the things
you are telling him . This can lead to mislead advice when done unconsciously and this can be corrected
but there are cases when we lie to someone in order to push the person to do or say something we are
afraid to or we just want the person to make a mistake . This can happen in many ways but the most
common and most close to me way is when we lie to a classmate because we just want him to fail in
answering the teacher correctly . To me this shows a really bad personality that will certainly lead to the
person not being socialy respected and trusted.
All in all , I would never lie to harm in anyway someone because, I dont want to do things to others that
I dont want to happen to me. Well I guess I told a little lie there but I promise it was just for the essay .
The formal thing we learnt is that we shouldnt lie but I want to give you the sincere advice that few
people will give you . You will not be able to spend your life without telling a lie but try to tell them
keeping in mind the short and long term consequences . If you and the person you lied to are not
harmed by them , dont really worry about the lie you told.
