To Whom This May Concern,
I, Lynnae Edwards, am a recent graduate from Kutztown University with an
undergraduate Bachelors degree in Education, with a concentration in Elementary Education. It is with lots of respect that I humbly submit my resume for a position as an Elementary Educator at your esteemed institution. I firmly believe that I would be a great asset to both your school and faculty. With me, I bring an unmatched work ethic and a strong desire to mold the minds of our future leaders. To begin my career with this fantastic opportunity would be a lifelong dream, and would give me the ability to effect real change in the classroom. I believe one of the most important qualities an educator must possess, is the capacity to lead. My time at Kutztown University has tremendously prepared me for this role, as Ive had the honor of leading several different organizations on campus. Of which, Sigma Lambda Gamma National Sorority Incorporated has been the most challenging and rewarding. Our colony was founded in 2014, and I was given the responsibility and the honor of serving as its first president. This role greatly prepared me for leadership as I was charged with the difficult task of efficiently running an organization. I was able to achieve this not by handling all affairs myself, but by utilizing my other members talents and delegating specific tasks and roles based on those abilities. As a result, through increasing membership, our colony has been given the distinction of being promoted to chapter status Secondly, I believe an educator must possess a strong desire for academic excellence. From the start of my freshman year, I challenged myself to devote one hundred percent of my time and effort to my academics, and I did exactly that. This achievement is evident in my 3.72 cumulative GPA that Ive maintained for the majority of my academic career at Kutztown University. Also, Ive been selected to the Deans list five times, and Ive been admitted to four honor societies based on my academic achievement. It is no question that my background has shaped my views on education. My parents stressed the idea of education being a means for success and I have internalized this ideal and plan on instilling this belief within my students. Above all, my passion for working with children is without a doubt what separates me from other candidates. I have devoted a great deal of my time mentoring our youth and future leaders. The Young Heroes youth program was my first experience working with at-risk youth. It was there that my hobby of mentoring youth grew to a career possibility. I knew then, at the age of eleven that Teaching was the profession for me. Now a senior in college ready for graduation, there is no doubt in my mind that Education is not only where I need to be but it is my calling, and I believe it is my duty to pass on what Ive learned to the next generation. Thank you for your consideration
