Reflections on Observation Task 1: Environmental in

the Classroom
Read the questions below and choose (1) one to respond to
1. How does environmental print impact students language development,
and their reading and writing abilities?
It impact students language by using flash card which really help students to
read sight word and they can understand what is written. This helps students
in reading so they can see the picture and link the words in their mind with
the letters that written under the picture. It is actually works with a;; students
with different levels.

Reflections on Observation Task 2: Teaching a Phonics Lesson
In my school they use jolly phonics to teach children phonics. They also use video
to show them how they can pronounce the sounds. Phonics taught in my school
by show them song of the letter and the teacher did action for each letter
so they can match it with the letter.
They focus on the lesson on how they can pronounce the letter then next day they learn how
to write.
The teacher engage children by ask them to follow her action of the sound and say it with her then
she ask them to answer with her by giving her example to answer. Then she use another type of
engagement which is write letter n in the board.

the students did.
Circle area to the action and say the sound with her then she
ask them to go next room to write in the books.

Reflections on Observation Task 3: Teaching Shared/Guided

Reading
1. Which concepts about print (CAP) did the teacher focus on?
The teacher focuses on where they should throw. Also she focuses on place of
garbage and why we have garbage basket. The advantages of keeping our
classroom and city and country clean. She also focuses on the colour she asks
children through the story about the colour.
She also focus on discussion with children.
Then she give them flashcards to order it then they have to repeat the story in order.
2. Were there any initial/medial/final sounds, punctuation, sight words or word

families that were covered during the lesson? If they were, select (a); if they were
not, select (b).
a. W h a t was the purpose of teaching these concepts? Explain its importance.
She uses presentation to do an activity through it like match, circle the correct
behaviour.
The purpose is to learn keep places clean and do not throw garbage. And learn new vocab
such as garbage baskets, rubbish container, cleaner, recycle.
Words like: on, in, under, behind, and in front.

Focus:
Identify the early developmental writing stages and strategies within
those stages
Objective: Identify the developmental stages and strategies used by your MST to
support the development of early writing skills in students
Procedure: Familiarize yourself with the Observation Table: Development of Early
Writing Skills. Identify the developmental writing stage the student is in, the outcomes
that the activity addresses and a brief description of the activity. For example, K2LP1

Reflections on Observation Task 4: Development of Early Writing

Skills
I actually like what the teacher did with students I found it very useful students can
actually learn through it. I observe that students developmental writing stages in
using clay, board, paper, and colouring. I suggest two strategies which are using craft
and using own work; pictures, paintings, collage, worksheets which helps children to
recognize the form of the letter and learn how to write it.
These strategies help to develop students in writing.
