Sense of Community
To Foster a sense of community within Anderson Middle School Fifth School
Interdisciplinary team, we have decided on two community activities per year. One
each semester.
Semester 1:
Community Activity One: Team-wide talent show where all students are
encouraged to participate in either preforming, helping organize, or actually host
the talent show. The whole School will be invited to attend as well as parents.
Community Activity Two: The entire fifth grade will participate in planning a
beach field trip with itinerary as well as any fundraising for the trip to happen.
They will be able to spend an entire friday at the beach as a class.
Semester 2:
Community Activity One: The fifth grade will design a spirit week with a finale of
a preforming guest that they have to work together to bring in. The students will
have dress down days as well as dress up days and themed parties throughout the
week.
Community Activity Two: The Students will host an end of the year carnival with
the help of the sixth and seventh grade teams. They can make it whatever theme
they want and with the right amount of planning and working together they can
make it a community wide event not just a school event.
