you credit me (KristiTullus, http://sidrun.spire.ee) as the designer.
Tip! You can use the same pattern to make larger or smaller toys by using finer or bulkier yarn. Pick a
crochet hook at least a size smaller than suggested on the yarn label and crochet tightly enough to
achieve a tight gauge that will not allow the stuffing to show through the fabric. You may also need
to adjust the size of the joints, safety eyes and nose.

Materials & Tools

Yarn. I used worsted weight cotton and acrylic
blend, 92 m = 50 g (101 yds = 50 g) / 10 ply / 8 wpi /
4: medium. You will need about 130 g of orange,
24 g of white and 38 g of dark brown yarn.
3,25 - 4,75 mm crochet hook (US size 3/D - G)
or according to the yarn.
Polyester fiberfill, wool, wadding etc. for stuffing.
12 mm (1/2") safety eyes and a 20 mm (3/4)
triangular safety nose or buttons, beads, felt etc.
Two sets of 25 mm, two sets of 35 mm and one
set of 45 mm plastic doll joints or safety eyes in
the same size or buttons and strong thread.
Yarn needle, scissors, stitch marker.

Abbreviations
mr, sc n = magic ring crochet n single crochet stitches in to the adjustable loop (see page 12).
sl st = slip stitch (single crochet stitch in UK and Australia).
sc = single crochet stitch (double crochet stitch in UK and Australia).
hdc = half double crochet stitch (half triple or treble crochet stitch in UK and Australia).
hdc-inc = crochet two half double crochet stitches in the same stitch.
inc = increase crochet two single crochet stitches in the same stitch.
inc3 = double increase crochet three single crochet stitches in the same stitch.
dec = decrease crochet two stitches together using the invisible decrease method (see page 13).
sc (or sl st, ch etc.) n = make n single crochet stitches (or sl st, ch etc.), one in each stitch.
(sc 4, inc) x n = repeat the pattern between parentheses n times.
(sc 4, inc) x 6 (36) = number of stitches in a round after finishing round.

Notes
Work in a continuous spiral, do not join rounds or turn, unless instructed otherwise in the pattern.
Use a stitch marker or a piece of yarn to mark the end or the beginning of a round. Move the
marker up after completing each round.
All stitches are worked in to both loops, unless instructed otherwise in the pattern.

Choosing joints
Tip! You can use plastic doll joints, metal cotter pin joints, buttons and thread or even just thread to
attach the arms, legs and head to the body.

My favorite are plastic doll joints, which are easy to install, durable and water proof. These can also
be substituted for safety eyes and plastic washers.

Buttons and thread will work great as well, as doll joints might not be readily available everywhere.
Just make sure to use strong nylon thread or fishing line.

Stuffing the pieces

Stuffing is what gives your finished amigurumi the shape, so take your time. Loosen the stuffing
between your hands and add a little bit at a time. Keep adding until your piece is firm and holds
shape. If you start getting lumps, pull out all the stuffing, loosen it and start over. If you can see the
stuffing through the fabric, you have overstuffed. Then it is best to start over and stuff more lightly.
