Introduction:

Thesis Statement:

Science consistently evolves, and even more when it is Computer Science, offering more

opportunities which provides better salaries and better acknowledgement of the computer world

for people who studies this major.

According to the website Top Ten Reviews, Computer careers are among the fastest

growing, highest paying and most in-demand vacations in todays economy (Shipley). So why

computer careers? The answer is simple, computer careers offer a wide array of opportunities,

relatively high job security and great pay, this is because computer career require a very specific

skill that is in high demand by employers. Most of the jobs related to computer science require a

post-secondary education such as an associate or bachelors degree.

As stated in the website The Balance, Creativity is essential for those computer science

majors who hope to come up with the latest app or technology gadget (Profita). But as we all

know, the right job for you will depend on your personal skills, values, and interests. The same

website states: Given the pervasiveness of computer technology in society today, there are many

different job possibilities for the computer science major (Profita).

The website The Motley Fool, states: If you are one of the lucky recipients of the nearly

146,000 computer science and engineering undergraduate degrees, you can rest assured that you

will have a much higher success rate in your job search than some of your peers (Alix).

Body:

The salary of computer careers ranges from $22,000 a year on the low end to $140,000

for the highest earners, where the median salary from all the vocations is of about $34,750

according to Top Ten Reviews. The website also states that: Depending on the computer career

you choose, opportunities for employment are projected to grow anywhere from 7 percent to 25

percent by the year of 2022 (Shipley). It has been determined to the fact that computer career

enjoy a relatively low unemployment rate of between 4.2 and 0.90 percent.

Based on the website Top Ten Reviews, There is the traditional office environment. The

9-to-5 workaday model often fits well with those who choose a computer career (Shipley).

From the 3 main website resources that I did the research on, they mostly had the same

ranking for the best careers when it comes to computer science, lets start breaking them down:

1.- Software Engineer:

This Career seems to be the best in its field, with the benefits of being highly paid and

opportunities for employment are plentiful. With its highest wage being $138,880 per year. This

career is ideal for people who can combine logic with creativity. The website The Motley Fool

estimates that nearly 222,600 jobs will be added to the economy by 2022. They are the builders

of our digital world.

2.- System Analyst:

System analysts enjoy a healthy starting salary in a growing field, with the highest pay of

$122,090 per year. They combine knowledge of information systems and business to develop

computer systems that will meet business needs. It requires strategically thinking and interaction

with professionals. According to The Balance website, System analysts need the curiosity and

thirst for continual learning to track trend in technology and research cutting edge systems.

3.- Network Security Specialist:

It is known to be a very fast growing, high paying career with excellent job security, with

its highest pay being $ 135,600 per year. Who practice this job oversees protecting a companys

data and other information. Network security specialists build firewalls, install antivirus software

on servers and computers within a network, and monitor networks for breaches in security.

4.-Network Architect:

Is the highest paid computer career compared to all the other ones, based on the review

from the website Top Ten Reviews. These are the individuals that design, build and sometimes

maintain computer networks. They also specialize in creating custom networks that fit the

specific need of their clients. Its highest paying wage is of about $141,590 per year. But it is one

of the most difficult careers to get.

5.- Database Administrator:

They have the potential to earn high wage. They oversee building and maintaining

custom databases to meet the specific data need of a company or organization. It requires

effective communication skills to determine the multiple purposes that a system will be used for

within an office. It currently has a highest wage of $118,720 per year.

6.- Network Administrator:

It is a hands-on job which involves collaboration with many other IT professionals,

mostly recommended for people who enjoy working with hardware and software. The

responsibility of these career is to manage physical and virtual aspects of an organizations

computer network. It offers a highest wage of $115,180 per year.

7.- Web Developer:

One of the biggest advantages of this career is that it requires minimal education to gain

an entry-level position. They play a significant role in how we interact with our online world.

Architects of our experience on the World Wide Web, it is also a fast-growing field. The Motley

Fool states: There are more than 67,000 jobs being advertised at the moment. They also

structure sites to maximize the number of page views and visitors through search engine

optimization.

8.- Computer Tech Support:

This job doesnt require as much experience, the low wage of this career path is $34,930

per year. The median salary being $59,090 annually, rising to $96,850. It is a good option when it

comes for many interactions with customers and a social communication type of interest.

9.- Graphic Designer:

This careers unemployment rate is one of the lowest among other careers of computer

science. It consists of the craft of all the visuals that you see not online but also in the real world.

They create all images you see on billboards, in magazines, restaurant menus, television and

much more. It is an excellent job for those who have good creativity. Ranking around $77,490

per year.

10- Health Informatics:

It is one of the fastest growing computer careers. But it also one of the lowest of any IT

job, compared to these other ones. It primarily focuses on maintaining and organizing medical

records for patients, physicians, hospitals and the governments. They are essential to keep

information moving, maintaining its accuracy and guarding its security. With its highest paying

salary being $56,200.

Conclusion:

So, as we have seen, Computer Science is one of the best paying majors we can find out

in the job field, but it does require many education and experience as well, it isnt easy as well

but it pays off at the end. I do believe that the world we are living today is a fast-growing world

when it comes to its innovations and improvement in the technology field, therefore, it is

requiring more management and use of computers and people competitive enough to perform

tasks that can keep up with this demand of computer relationship with todays world.

Shipley in the website Top Ten Reviews expresses: Luckily there is enough opportunity

and flexibility in this field to accommodate nearly anyone who wants to purse it.
