GRAMMAR: Past simple


Complete the text with the past simple form of the verbs in brackets.
Last summer my art class (1) (go) on a school trip. We (2) (spend) a week in
Amsterdam. There were about twenty of us and four teachers. We (3) (travel) in a coach
from our school near Oxford. We (4) (leave) the school at about half past six in the
evening. We (5) (arrive) in Amsterdam about 12 hours later we were all quite tired
because the journey was very long. Some of my friends (6) (sleep) when we were on the
boat to France, but I (7) (not sleep) on the bus or on the boat.
The class (8) (have) an amazing time. We (9) (see) a lot of famous paintings in
the Van Gogh museum and interesting buildings in the city. But I (10) (not enjoy) the
food we (11) (eat) lots of chips. My friends and I all (12) (think) it was a really
amazing place, and Id like to go back there one day.
