Introduction
Hi I'm Lia Melcher!

I am so excited to be here at Prince Elementary, and to have this opportunity


to be a part of this class. I am hoping to learn a lot from Ms. Kechely about
teaching. Specifically, learning how to create engaging unit plans and how to
appropriately manage a class. I am eager to start teaching and I hope we
have a great semester together!

About Me

I was born and raised in Tucson, Arizona. My mother


is also a Tucson native and my father is from Mexico. I
grew up in a bicultural and bilingual household. I am
the first person in my family to attend college. I
attended the University of Arizona right after high
school. I changed my major several times, but my
childhood passion and dedication to art encouraged
me to pursue a degree in art. I majored in Studio Art
2-D with an emphasis in printmaking.

Throughout high school and college I worked at the same Mexican food
restaurant where my parents met. After college I found a fulltime position as
a teacher's assistant at a preschool. It sparked an interest to become an
educator and after trying out a few things (taking a few classes, talking with
advisors, and working with different age groups) I came to the conclusion to
become an elementary school teacher. I am currently enrolled in a post
degree program with Pima Community College and Im excited that after this
semester Ill be a teacher.

Methods of distribution:

One way would be to send the letter home with students. I could also send it
out as an email, like parents who would like to read it could sign up, and then
I could send an email to each one. Another way could be by having my email
available on the classroom or schools website.
