EMIC Syllabus

This document outlines the objectives and content of a course on electromagnetic interference and compatibility (EMI/EMC). The course aims to teach the basics of EMI, coupling mechanisms, mitigation techniques, standards and regulations, and testing methods. It is divided into 5 units that cover: basic EMI/EMC theory; coupling mechanisms like inductive, capacitive and radiative coupling; mitigation techniques like shielding, grounding and filtering; EMI standards from organizations like IEC, FCC and CISPR; and testing methods including emissions testing in shielded chambers and the use of spectrum analyzers and antennas. The overall goal is for students to learn how to solve EMI problems in electronics design and measure emissions/imm
