2014 Grade 4 and 5

1:1 iPad Program

Q and A

Dear Parents,

I have had a major discussion with grade 3 and 4 students today who are very
excited about the 1:1 initiative for 2014. They have asked me many, many
questions and therefore will be able to answer a lot that you may have as well.

The questions they asked that I thought may be best answered in this note are as
follows:

Q/ Can iPad minis be included in the BYOD program?

A/ Yes definitely

Q/ Can you buy your own instead of from the school?

A/ Yes but I challenge anyone to be able to source them at the price we can. We have done a
very competitive deal with our supplier.

Q/ Can you lease the iPad from the school but buy your own cover?
A/ Yes just indicate that on the BYOD form and we will remove that cost from your student
charges

Q/ Why iPad air for grade 4 and iPad 2 for grade 5?

A/ The iPad air will need to last the leasing period of at least 3 years and the iPad 2 at least 2
years and because of the cost of each item this still equates to $150 per year.

Q/ Can they be taken home?

A/ Yes but we will store them at school for safety reasons over long holiday periods.

We will also be providing an information session early 2014 that will cover cyber
safety, the leasing agreement and the 1:1 program.
