Reaction Paper

Last August 04, 2017, we had our culminating activity in which Ilonggo artists
show their unique talents and skills on their expertise. They also shared their
cultures and traditions in their place. One of the ethnic group or tribe in Iloilo is
the Panay Bukidnon. The leaders of their tribe were Mr. Rodolfo Sandigan
Caballero and Mrs Rita Intaru Caballero. Our title was inspired by their group
called Mga Tagik Kag Hulak. The Tagik means a rope that is used to tie or
make bond their bamboo made floors and Hulak means a bamboo skin that is
used for their walls. Their literature was passed only through oral tradition and
Ungaw which they considered it as their traditional reading. In addition, they
have they peculiar dance like Binanog dance that represent their courtship
dance and they emulate the movement of the Philippine Eagle. Furthermore,
their Tagbabae or welcome dance is the only dance in which the eldest women
in the group are only allowed to dance. There was also dance exclusively only for
the couple of Taglalaki and through this dance, they show how much they loved
each other.

During in the afternoon, we had our second speaker who is a visual artist and
also an instructor in Central Philippine University (CPU). Mr. Kristoffer Brasileo
just created artworks through his imaginations only. He was influenced also by
modernization because he is now using digital machines such as computer or
laptop in creating a masterpiece. He also shared his knowledge and skills in
visual arts. He is one of the artists who paint beside the Robinsons Iloilo. They
paint in the street so that many people would see their masterpiece because of
they put it in the museum less people would see it so they draw or paint it in the
streets.

The last speaker in our culminating activity is a Cinekasimanwa and

Cinemarehiyon Director. So he is one of the best photographers in Iloilo. As a
low-key photographer, I am very excited to share his knowledge and skills to us.
He also gives a tips and ideas on how to take a good photo. As a photographer
he said that your partner in taking photo is the light.

Being a part of this activity, Ive learned a lot on this three speakers. As a
motivation, you dont have to be talented and skilled to discover an art, as long
as you have the passion and determination, it will be easier for you to reach your
goals.
