SCHOOL NEWS
Uniform Policy
Please review the school uniform regulations to ensure that your child is in complete uniform and
following policy. Examples of school uniforms can be found in the parent/student handbook and on
the school website under Dennis Uniforms. Students are required to wear either the school vest,
sweater, or cardigan with their formal uniform for school pictures scheduled on September 26, 2017,
and for school masses beginning in November 2017.

Fall Festival
St. Columbas Annual Octoberfest/Fall Festival is scheduled from October 13-15th. This is one of our
most important fundraisers of the year. All profit goes back into the school. In order to make this years
Fall Festival successful we need the support from our entire school community. There are many ways
families can help make this event even more successful than last year. Ms. Marylou Scott is our
Volunteer Coordinator. She will be managing the volunteer sign-ups for this years fundraisers. Please
consider donating at least 4 hours of your time to this event.

Raffle tickets will be sent home on Friday, September 8th with the eldest in each family. Each family is
asked to sell a minimum of 10 raffle tickets. The families that sell all 10 tickets by September 29th will
earn a free dress for their children on Wednesday, October 1st. The class with the highest sales will earn
a pool & pizza party.

BINGO
How important is Bingo to St. Columba? Bingo brings in more profit than any other fundraiser. All its
proceeds support the schools tuition assistance, facility maintenance, and curriculum. Bring your
family and friends for a night of fun. The Bingo Staff are planning a Bingo Extravaganza on September
1st. It is best to show up around 5pm to secure your seat. St. Columba also needs volunteers for Bingo.
This is a great way to earn service hours. Please contact Kristina Campbell at (858) 449-6835 to sign
up.

Parents in Prayer
The Parents in Prayer group will meet for the month of September on every Monday right after
Assembly. We welcome and encourage parents, grandparents, and other family members to join Mrs.
Nona Reinagal, our amazing librarian in the library. Mrs. Reinagal has been leading Parents in Prayer for
several years. During this time in history we need to gather as a community to pray for World Peace.

Registration
Registration is still open for the 2017/2018 school year. St. Columba offers a well-rounded faith-based
education with a variety of extra-curricular activities for all grade levels. St. Columba Catholic School is
beginning its 55th year of being established and has a lot to celebrate. This is a school that has a rich
history of producing students who have gone forward and become successful and productive citizens.
We are especially proud of the many alumni who have continued to practice good Catholic
Stewardship. St. Columba welcomes new families into its community and is proud to share all it has to
offer in Catholic Education.
