The primary and specific coating standards for the oil & gas industry are singled out in
paragraph 1.0 below, as these standards are the responsibility of the coating experts of the oil
& gas industry community to develop and maintain, and nobody else.
Many of the references in paragraph 2.0 below are generally applicable coating and paint
related standards not specifically made for the oil & gas industry, but they are frequently used
by the coating discipline and hence listed to check if they are commonly referenced by the
global oil & gas industry for their individual and specific purposes.
