Okay. I like to share with you all some Tausug words. ;)

Hoyah / Uy - hello

Maunu-unu kaw? - How are you?

Magsukul. - Thank you!

Kalasahan ta kaw / Malasa ako kaimu - I love you!

Kabayaan ta kaw / Mabayah ako kaimu - I like you!


SOME RANDOM TAUSUG NOUNS & ADJECTIVES

Lasa - (n) - Love

>> yes. It means love. It kinda sounds awkward especially if you are Tagalog since lasa means taste in
tagalog. :)

>>You say I love you in Tausug as: Kalasahan ta kaw or Malasa ako kaymu. ( I know. It sounds weirder
as we go on. haha.)

Kasi - (n) care

>> can be used together with lasa = kasilasa; it means, love and care. Usually used as Salam kasilasa =
Peace, care and love.

Kasajahitra-an - (n) peace, other word: salam (from Arabic)

Kasanyangan - (n) at ease, comfort

Kasulutan - (n) in harmony, in agreement

Kasambuhan - (n) prosperity

Tuud - (adv) very

>> can be used: very big - malaggu tuud; i love you very much - kalasahan ta kaw tuud.

Dayahan - (adj) rich, wealthy

Miskin - (adj) poor

- borrowed from Arabic.


Mangih dagbus - (adj) ugly

>> You say You are ugly as Mangih kaw dagbus.

Lingkat - (n) - beauty

>> You say You are beautiful in Tausug as: Malingkat kaw.

Dupang - (n) crazy or fool

>> Yeap. If you heard me saying this to you, I hope you know the meaning already. :P

Hapdi - (n) hunger

>> Hiyapdi ako means I'm hungry.

Sibi - (n) little

(adj) masibi, sibi-sibi (tiny)

Laggu - (n) big

(adj) malaggu

Irum - (n) black beauty

(adj) mairum

>> You can say malingkat to any girls but mairum best describes those girls who do not have fair
complexion.

Asawa - (n) wife / husband

>> mag-asawa - to marry


Addat (n) - manners/conduct

>> good-mannered - marayaw addat

>> bad-mannered - mangih addat

Dayaw - (n) goodness

>> good - marayaw
