    Study Plan of Mushfiqur Rahman

    I became intrigued with the field of agricultural finance and the magnitude of influence that it
    has on the industry after realizing the impact of micro finance in the agricultural sector of our country.
    To fulfill my aspirations for this stream I want to follow it as my career option.

    I completed Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree in Accounting and Finance


    from North South University (NSU), one of the most prestigious private universities in Bangladesh.
    The School of Business and Economics of NSU is an ACBSP accredited school where I have got the
    opportunity to learn the fundamentals of finance after completing diverse courses in allied field and its
    applications in different industries.

    In 2015, I began my career working with an e-commerce industry, an emerging sector in the
    country and since then I had the opportunity to learn more about the role of finance in business. I was
    always curious and inquisitively wondering how efficient financial markets and proper financial
    management systems can play key roles in countrys economy as it is an agribusiness based economy.

    As my country doesnt have appropriate higher learning institutions to pursue graduate


    programs in Agribusiness and economics, which led me to the University of Manitoba. The
    university offers strong research facility and it has some of the extraordinary faculty members that
    attracted me the most. Studying at University of Manitoba became most suited choice because of the
    various features and facilities it provides. Getting a masters degree in agribusiness and agricultural
    economics from University of Manitoba would earn me a great deal of International exposure. A wide
    range of students drawn from different countries with varied experience would form a great pool of
    class room experience. The university inspires its students to work hard and gives an equal opportunity
    to come out with flying colors.

    The agricultural economics program at University of Manitoba will help me in achieving a


    unique trait a must for a successful future. The course will not just award me with an international
    masters degree but also with an inter-disciplinary education. In addition to these, the program will
    allow me to research on financial influence on agricultural business. A combination of these aspects
    in my course, would enrich me with an edge over my contemporaries back in Bangladesh.

    With the combined efforts from the public and the private sector, the Bangladeshi agricultural
    sector has a formidable presence and potential to become more. Skilled and hardworking manpower
    and rich biodiversity are already our strength.

    I aim to work towards improvement of the economy of Bangladesh through research and
    development. I plan to return to my country after completion of my study to look after my old parents
    and to make meaningful contributions in Agro-industry of the country. I intent to combine the
    knowledge gathered from the program and the experience in e-commerce; and form a strong platform
    for the people to conduct Agribusinesses. This will create a large employment opportunity and strong
    economic structure. I foresee a very bright future for myself back in Bangladesh using gathered
    knowledge for the growth and development of its agricultural sectors
