UNIT 5. Write about the school, free-time and entertainment in the future.

I think that 2050 isnt going to be better than now, because the world will probably have a lot of
advantages, but I think that we will have some problems too.

On the one hand, Im sure that everybody will learn more things at school, because scientist are
going to discover a lot of new things that the teachers will teach to the children. Perhaps well be
more entertained because technology will be better and people will probably have a lot of free
time to use it.

On the other hand, I think that everybody is going to be alone becuase in their free time they are
going to be busy playing videogames and using new technology, so people probably wont want to
make friends and meet new people.

In conclusion, the world might be better, but we are going to have problems to meet people and
be sociable, because new technologies are goot to be entertaining, but they are bad too, because
we wont be sociable to use them.

Do you think that in 2050 the schools, the free time and the entertainment will change? Well, Im
sure that the schools will improve. You only have to see that they are starting to change now.
However, Im not sure that the free time and the entertainment will change so much. I think that
the entertainment might improve but less than schools.

On the one hand, the positive aspects for the schools improvement are that students will probably
have more sources to study such as digital books and all the activities and explanations on-line.
Also, students might have virtual teachers. These are programs that students can use to ask
doubts when they are doing their homework, and they dont have anyone to help them. In the
free time matter, I think that it probably wont change and if it changes, it will be only a bit. In my
opinion, the free time only will change that the people wont do so much sport than they do now.
The entertainment will probably be more related with the new technologies such as on-line games
in iPads, iPods, Smartphones, etc.

On the other hand, we are going to have problems. It isnt good for the health to be sit in front of
a computer many hours. It can damage our sight and it can get worse our physical form if we
dont do sport. The most important thing is that we might lose our relationships with our family
and friends and we will probably give more importance to technologies.

My conclusion is that we have to use all the resources that can improve our lives but we must
contre this use. Remember, use but dont abuse!

Were staying in a hotel called Your Dream, and its going to be very comfortable because it has
got four stars. Were swimming in the climatic pool that is near the hall. I want to go in a tourist
bus, so Im going to book two tickets for all day. Im excited to do many activities.

Katy Perry is going to give a concert in the last days that we are there, so were going to see her.
I want to know her life, so Im looking for it on the Internet. You have to write to me another

ticket insideand guess what? The ticket says: A trip to New York. Can you believe it? Im going
to New York next month!

Im going to stay in a very big hotel called The Prince, its beautiful. On Friday, Im buying a big
coffe in Sturbucks and Im going to drink it while Im walking throughout Central Park. On
Saturday, Im visiting the Statue of Liberty and Brittanys village to meet her.

Interview to Jessie J., by Marta Morilla.
I: Hello! Here were with Jessie J. Hi Jessie!
J: Hi! Im so glad to be here.

I: First of all, why have you chosen to be a singer?

J: Well, I have known that music is my passion since I was young. I started to sing when I was six
but I had to leave it because I was in hospital for many months. Two years later, I started my
career as a composer.

I: Oh, thats astonishing! What singers have you written lyrics for?

J: Ive written lyrics for Christina Aguilera, Miley Cyrus, Chris Brown and other singers too.
I: Wow, its amazing! Next, what was your first single?

J: My fist single was Do it like a dude and it was so successful. Then, I released another single
called Price Tag which has arrived all over the world. I love this song! Hve you ever heard it?

I: Of course! I love this song too! Next, the most important thing, what about your tour?

J: Well, I have already started the tour. Last Wednesday, I gave a concert in London and
tomorrow I will give a concert here, in Madrid. Then, Ill travel to the USA and Ill give twelve
concerts there and finally, Ill travel to Tokyo to give another one.

I: Wow, youre going to know many countries! Finally, what future plans do you have?

J: My future plans are to record all the albums that I can with my new production company and to
enjoy my life.

I: Thats cool! Thank you so much for the interview, Jessie. You are so friendly. Bye!

I: Im fine, thanks. Lets start! First of all, how long have you sung rap?

N: Ive sung rap music since I was eight.

I: Oh! You were only a child!

N: Yes, haha!

I: Well, people say that you have sung with many famous singers. So, who have you been more
comfortable with?

N: Mmm Ive always been really good with everyone, but I think that the person who Ive felt
better with is Rihana, because shes one of my best friends.

I: Its good! Next, what tour has been the best for you?

N: The best was the Spanish tour. I went to Madrid, Barcelona, Sevilla and Cadiz, and I had a very
good time there.

I: And do you like Spain?

N: Yes, of course! I love Spain and Spanish people. and I like their beaches too.

I: How many albums have you recorded this year?

N: I have recorded four albums.

I: These are too many albums!

N: Yes, I know! This year Im working hard because I want to go on holidays soon.

UNIT 2. Write a Biography of your HERO.

My hero is Bruno Mars, by Paola Soto.

I want to write about Bruno Mars because when I hear his songs I feel better.

He was given an MTV award for best male singer. Bruno Mars was born in Honolulu (Hawaii) on
the 8th of October 1985. He is a singer, composer and has recorded many song albums. His
mother is from the Philippines and his father is from Puerto Rico. He was raised in Honolulu by a
family of musicians. Bruno started to play music at an early age. He recorded the song called Just
the way you are and Grenade around the world.

Bruno Mars is my hero because I like the lyrics of his songs and I love his voice, because when I
hear it, it gives me peace.

My hero is Usain Bolt, by Marta Carrillo.

I want to write about Usain Bolt because hes the best sprinter man in the world.

He was born on the 21st August 1986 in Jamaica. He lives in Trelawney, Jamaica, and when he
was young, Bolt had a vertebral problem, but that could no stop him. His friends have a special
name for him lightning Bolt.

Bolt has competed in a lot of races and his worst result is the silver medal. He is a Jamaican
sprinter man and a five-time World and three-time Olympic gold medalist. He has the world
record and Olympic record holder in the 100 metres, 200 metres and (along with his teammates)
the 4100 metres relay. Hes the reigning Olympic champion in these three events.

Professional running is one of the hardest sport in the world, but when I see Usain Bolt I can
believe it because he makes it very easy, and that is why hes my sporting hero.

UNIT 1. Write a Postcard.

Hi Cristina!

Im writing this postcard from a place which I dreamt all my life and this summer this dream has
been real.
I am travelling in a cruise by the Mediterranean Sea. Right now Im sitting in a restaurant next to
the Fontana de Trevi, listening to the sound of the water and I think that its something really
beautiful and relaxing.
Yesterday, I was in Florence and I saw the David of Miguel Angel and the center of the city too. I
think that it was marvellous. In my opinion the best was the Ponte Vecchio and the Basilica di
Santa Croce.
Tomorrow Ill go to Corcega and there Ill see Napoleons house and Ill enjoy its marvellous
beaches.
I think that Im going to rest for two days in this fantastic cruise, Im going to relax and sunbathe
a lot.
Well, I have to say goodbye. I miss you a lot and next year I hope to travel with you.

Im having a really great time. The Dublins Dance Festival is amazing, you know that I love
dancing, so Im very glad.
Yesterday, I made a new friend, his name is Tony and hes very cheerful and polite. He loves

Guess what? On Monday while I was rehearsing, Sophie broke her leg and she is not going to act
on Friday. Im sorry for her. Poor girl!

UNIT 5: Write about a Legend, a person who did something important in
the past and for that he/she is remembered nowadays.

MICHAEL JACKSON by Yasmin Zuliani.

Michael Jackson was born on the 29th August, 1958 in Indiana. He started singing when he was
very young in a group called The Jackson 5 with his brothers. They became very popular.

In 1971 Michel began his solo career. His music and his dances were famous all over the world,
specially the Moon Walk. One of his most famous songs was Thriller. Michael was very kind
because he cared a lot for the poor and gave lots of money so they could have food and medicine.

He died on the 25th June, 2009. His fans were shocked and very sad, especially my mother.

MICHAEL JORDAN by Jorge Muoz

He was the best basketball player in the NBA from 1984 to 2003. He was born on the
17th February, 1963 in New York. He lived in Wimington, North Carolina. When he was at high
school he played basketball, baseball and American football, but he only played seriously
basketball, because the other sports werent easy for him.
His average score was 30,12 pts during his entire career. He played fourteen times the All-Star
Game, he was five times MVP of the season, he had two Olympic medals, he was the best
defender of the year and the rookie of the year.

He retired twice: the fist time his father died, so he retired from basketball and started playing
baseball, because his father played baseball. After a short time, Michael came to basketball and
when he was old for basketball he retired for ever.

UNIT 4: Write a postcard from a foreign city.

I am in New York. Im having a really good weekend here. First, I visited the Statue of Liberty.
Then, I went by bus to Central Park. This morning I went shopping and I bought lots of things and
I got something special for you!

Dear Jorge,

Were having a fantastic time in Paris! It is a very fascinating and interesting city.
First of all, we arrived in the hotel on Friday morning and, after going for a little walk, we had a
rest, because we were very tired.
We went to the Eiffel Tower on Saturday, ate some food and then we looked at the city from the
river Seine on the Bateaux Mouches. Finally, we went to Disneyland on Sunday, rode in all the
atractions and came back to Paris after dinner.
We spent the best days of our life!!!

The best singers in the world, by Juan Antonio Herrera.
This report is about the most popular singers for students. I have the answers from my best
friends and I also have answers from other friends.

The best singer for boys is Usher. They like Pitbull and Rihanna too, but a bit less. For girls the
best singer is Enrique Iglesias. They also like Usher and Jennifer Lopez. Pitbull isnt as good for
girls as he is for boys.

In conclusion, I think this information is interesting. The most surprising thing is that boys and
girls like more or less the same type of music.

The most popular TV programmes, by Mara Gmez Cabral.

This report is about the most popular programmes for children, women and men.
The coolest programmes for children are cartoons. The coolest programmes for women are the
news, women also like quiz shows and cookery programmes. The coolest progammes for men are
sports programmes and the news with a 30%.

In my opinion everybody likes watching TV, and we sometimes watch what other people like.

UNIT 2. Write an email.
Dear Miguel,
How are you? I am writing this email because I want to tell you my holidays. Im staying in a
room of a hotel and now I am writing what Im doing in Scotland. I like the monuments, the small
castles and the parks but I dont like the big castles because they are very tiring, although all of
them are very beautiful. Im going to stay here one week and this is the third day.
Here they use to eat a lot of ice cream, fish and chips and hamburguers. The weather is cloudy
and rainy but sometimes it is sunny. Im lucky because this week is going to be sunny. Here there
are a lot of lakes and we visit the Ness Lake with its monster Nessy.

Hi brother! Im writing you this email from my mobile phone because mum, dad and I are in the
Picassos museum. I am sorry that you had to stay at home because you are ill.

UNIT 1. Description of a friend.
Rebecca is my best friend and my neighbour, she is 11 years old. She goes to Juan Gonzalez
Primary School and shes very clever. She has a little sister, she is seven years old, her name is
Maria.

Rebecca has medium-length brown hair and brown eyes. She is thin and has a normal height for
her age. She is very pretty and she hasnt got any freckles.

Rebecca likes gymnastics, dancing and singing. She likes watching scary movies and meeting her
friends. She likes animals. She has had a dog, birds and turtles, and now she has a black and
white cat, its name is Koko, it is a very nervous and loving cat.

We have been best friends for many years and I hope we shall stay best friends forever.
