Perks and Programs

Locally Relevant Minimum Wage: IKEA U.S. bases its minimum hourly wages on local living costs for co-
workers. This is a significant development from the retail industry, which traditionally sets wages according to
the local employment market. Every IKEA location has a minimum wage of $10.00 per hour or higher.

Healthcare Coverage: IKEA U.S. offers a competitive healthcare plan for co-workers who work 20 or more
hours per week and their spouses or domestic partners. Comprehensive medical, dental, vision and prescription
drug coverage includes infertility treatments, bariatric surgery, home health care and gender reassignment.

Career Flexibility and Growth: At IKEA, its not job titles or slotting people into standardized career paths.
IKEA co-workers are given room to explore new jobs and new responsibilities and the training they need to
grow and develop. Co-workers are encouraged to try out different career paths within IKEA (including jobs in
different IKEA companies or even international assignments). Its not unusual for a co-worker to start out part-
time in customer service and move through Sales, Logistics and Safety & Security roles up down and
sideways and end up leading a team as a location manager. In fact, at IKEA youll often hear, Change jobs!
Just stay at IKEA.

Bonus Program for Everyone: Everyone at IKEA, no matter what position they hold, is eligible for the One
IKEA Bonus Program, a performance-driven bonus system for hourly and salaried full-time and part-time co-
workers that is paid annually when set goals are reached.

5. Tack! (Swedish for thank you) Program: Under the Tack! program, all co-workers averaging 32 hours or
more a week over a 52-week period receive the same amount, regardless of their department, position or salary.
Part-time workers receive a pro-rated contribution dependent on their hours. Contributions are made directly into
a co-workers individual retirement plan. This is in addition to an annual 401(k) match.

Life Balance Benefits: IKEA offers a wide range of benefits to help co-workers manage many aspects of work
and life including round-the-clock consultations, resources and referrals for parenting, education, caring for
elders, pet care, community resources, legal and financial issues and so much more: up to $5,000 financial
assistance for the adoption of each child up to 35 days of paid adoption leave for both primary and secondary
caregivers five days of paid paternity leave company-paid short and long-term disability IKEA discounts.

IWitness Ambassador Program: IKEA IWitness supports understanding how improving opportunities for
children and their families has great value. Each year, IKEA U.S. co-workers travel around the world to witness
first-hand how the money from our Good Cause Campaigns, like Soft Toys for Education, makes a difference in
the lives of children and refugees. In 2016, 14 IKEA U.S. co-workers have participated in three different
IWitness trips: Four co-workers traveled to rural West Virginia to visit Save the Children literacy programs
funded by IKEA U.S. Five co-workers traveled to Cambodia to visit educational programs funded by the IKEA
Foundation Soft Toys for Education program. Five co-workers traveled to rural Cameron, Texas to see the
most recent IKEA U.S. wind farm purchase. You can follow our co-workers adventures on Instagram
#IKEAUSAJourneys.

WeCare: Co-worker Relief Fund: WeCare is our co-worker emergency relief fund. It was created to provide
assistance to co-workers who are facing financial hardship after a natural disaster or an unforeseen personal
hardship. Its a way for both IKEA and co-workers to provide help when its needed the most. WeCare is funded
through donations from co-workers and support from IKEA.

Focusing on Diversity & Inclusion: Diversity is having a mix of different people at IKEA, said IKEA global
leadership and diversity manager. Inclusion is creating the conditions that make them succeed. And one doesnt
go without the other. Overall, equality is a human right. When people can be themselves at work, their
uniqueness makes IKEA better. In the U.S., 140 co-workers have been selected as location Diversity &
Inclusion Ambassadors. Their role is to help drive local Diversity & Inclusion efforts and help co-workers build
a more inclusive workplace. Ambassadors also facilitate training on the following areas: What is D&I? Why
D&I is Important, Inclusion Model, Exploring Privileges, Unconscious Bias and Using Employee Resource
Groups to Increase Diversity.

Talent Week: To create awareness of the many development and career opportunities at IKEA, all locations
across the globe participated in our first annual Talent Week. In each location, co-workers: Attended career
focused workshops Listened to panels of co-workers sharing their IKEA journeys Signed up for one-on-one
development discussions with IKEA leaders Watched live video stream of our IKEA president conducting a
Town Hall in our Service Office Learned about new online tools to explore career opportunities. During the
same week, we conducted a Meet and Greet and invited non-IKEA co-workers to meet IKEA managers and
learn more about IKEA as an employer including the many development and career opportunities.
