Free Tuition Fee Program: Effects on the

Academic Performance of Students

Statement of the Problem:

The main purpose of this study is to determine the effectiveness of the free tuition fee
program in the academic performance of BISU-Calape third year BEEd students during the
academic year 2017-2018.

Specifically, it intends to answer the following problems:

1. What are the profile of the BISU-Calape third year BEEd students in terms of :
a. familys economic status; and
b. academic performance (A.Y. 2016-2017)?

2. What is the academic performance of the BISU-Calape third year BEEd students during
the implementation of the free tuition fee program?

3. Is there a significant relationship between the familys economic status and the
academic performance of the BISU-Calape third year BEEd students during the
implementation of the free tuition fee program?

4. Is there a significant difference between the academic performance of BISU-Calape third


year BEEd students in the previous academic year and during the implementation of the
free tuition fee program?

5. Is there a significant difference between the economic status and the performance of the
previous academic year of BISU-Calape third year BEEd students during the
implementation of the free tuition fee program?

6. What action plan can be proposed based on the findings?
