    atha puruṣo ha vai nārāyaṇo 'kāmayata prajāḥ sṛ̍j e ye̱ t i |
    nā̱ r ā̱ y a̱ ṇ āt prā̍ ṇ o jā̱ y ate | manaḥ sarvendrı y̍ āṇi ̱ ca |
    khaṁ vāyur jyotir āpaḥ pṛthivī viśva̍ s ya dhā̱ r iṇī |
    nā̱ r ā̱ y a̱ ṇ ād bra̍ h ma jā̱ y ate |
    nā̱ r ā̱ y a̱ ṇ ād ru̍ d ro jā̱ y ate |

    niṣkalo nirañjano nirvikalpo nirākhyāta śuddho deva eko̍ nārāya̱ ṇ aḥ |
    na dvi ṯ īyo̎ 'sti ̱ kaścı t̍ |
    ya e̍ v aṁ ve̱ d a | sa viṣṇureva bhavati sa viṣṇure̍ v a bha̱ v ati |
    etad yajur veda śiro'dhīte || 2 ||
    oṁ itya̍ g re vyā̱ h aret |
    nama ı t̍ i pa̱ ś cāt |
    nā̱ r ā̱ y a̱ ṇ āyety-u̍ p ari ṣ̱ ṭāt |
    oṁ ı t̍ yekā̱ k ṣaram |
    nama itı ̍ dve a̱ k ṣare |
    nā̱ r ā̱ y a̱ ṇ āyeti pañcā̎ k ṣarā̱ ṇ i |
    etad vai nārāyaṇasyā 'ṣṭākṣa̍ r aṁ pa̱ d am |
    yo ha vai nārāyaṇasyā 'ṣṭākṣaraṁ pada̍ m adhye̱ t i |
    anapabruvas sarvam ā̍ y ur e̱ t i |
    vindate prā̍ j āpa̱ t ya̱ ( g̱ ) ṁ rāyas poṣa̍ ṁ gaupa̱ t yam |
    tato 'mṛtatvam aśnute tato 'mṛtatvam aśnu̍ t a i ṯ i |
    ya e̍ v aṁ ve̱ d a | etat sāma veda śiro 'dhīte || 3 ||

    pratyag ānandaṁ brahma puruṣaṁ praṇava̍ svarū̱ p aṁ |
    akāra ukāra makā̍ r a i ṯ i |
    tān ekadhā samabharat tad-eta̍ d oṁ i ṯ i |
    yam uktvā̍ mucya̍ t e yo̱ g ī ̱ ja̱ n ma saṁsā̍ r a ba̱ n dhanāt |
    oṁ namo nārāyaṇāyeti ma̍ n tropā̱ s akaḥ |
    vaikuṇṭha bhuvana loka̍ ṁ gami ṣ̱ yati |
    tad idaṁ paraṁ puṇḍarīkaṁ vı j̍ ñāna̱ - ghanam |
    tasmāt tad idā̍ v an mā̱ t ram |
    brahmaṇyo deva̍ k ī pu̱ t ro̱ brahmaṇyo ma̍ d husū̱ d an-oṁ |
    sarva bhūtastham eka̍ ṁ nārā̱ y aṇam |
    kāraṇa puruṣaṁ akāraṇam pa̍ r abra̱ h m' oṁ || 4 ||

    etad atharva śiro̍ yo 'dhī ṯ e̱ prā̱ t ar a̍ d hīyā̱ n o̱ rātri-kṛtaṁ pāpa̍ ṁ nāśa̱ y ati |
    sā̱ y am a̍ d hiyā̱ n o̱ divasa-kṛtaṁ pāpa̍ ṁ nāśa̱ y ati |
    mādhyandinam āditya 'bhimukho̍ 'dhiyā̱ n a̱ ḥ
    pañca pātakopa pātakā̎ t pramu̱ c yate |
    sarva veda pārāyaṇa pu̍ ṇ yaṁ la̱ b hate |
    nārāyaṇa sāyujyam a̍ v āpno̱ t i ̱ nārāyaṇa sāyujyam a̍ v āpno̱ t i |
    ya e̍ v aṁ ve̱ d a | ityu̍ p a̱ n iṣa̍ t || 5 ||
