PROPOSAL FOR TRAINNING OF INDEGENES OF IKOT EKPENE L.G.A
INTRODUCTION
The film industry in Nigeria has great potentials which is not being properly harnessed, Nigeria is
currently at 20% of taking advantage of this industry, and Akwa Ibom states stands at just 2%. This is
why we at D-REELS FILM ACADEMY have taken it upon ourselves to train our youths to compete not just
in the Nigerian film industry but the world at large.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
D-Reels is a Film School that houses a production outfit (D-Reels Studio). The School is based in Uyo and
targets patronage both from local and international markets.
The primary product of the school is film education with an emphasis on practical development of skills
and techniques in different fields of Film Art. D-Reels Studio is a fully commercial Video and
Photography Production house that provides a platform for the internship program of the school. The
school and the production outfit are the two primary sources of income for the company.
D- REELS ACADEMY
The school provides three programs.
1. The 3 months Basic program
2. The 6 months Mastery Program
3. The One Year Professional Program.
The 3 Months Basic Program covers basic introduction to all the courses available at D-REELS
Academy. It gives the student a broad overview of The Film art and allows the student test the waters in
various fields. These class of students cannot be offered internship, nor can they compete in the bi-
yearly 48 hours film challenge. The courses covered in this program include
 Introduction to Cinematography/Photography
 Introduction to Film Editing
 Introduction to Directing
 Introduction to Script Writing
 Introduction to Film Producing
 Introduction to Production Design
 Introduction to Acting and Presenting
The 6 months Mastery Program narrows down the focus of the student to a particular field of
Film Art after the Basic training. The 3 months specialization period will witness the 48hrs Film Challenge
after the first month and the winners are offered internship positions with D-Reels studios for the rest of
the duration. The Mastery program offer the following courses
 Directing
 Script and Screen writing
 Film Editing and Motion Graphics
 Production Art and Design
 Cinematography
 Photography
 Radio/T.V Production
The One year Professional Program hones and refines the skills of the student, after the first six
months of Basic and Mastery program .These student are offered compulsory internship with D-Reels
Studio and remain on the production team until the end of their program. They also head faculty
productions and oversee the 48hours challenge. They are the only ones qualified to compete in the
Student Film of the year Competition which must be submitted on or before the first day of November
for screening and voting before the end of year Premiere in December. The courses offered in this
program are
 Advanced Directing
 Motion Graphics and 3-D Animation
 Advanced Cinematography
 Advanced Photography
 Advanced Production Design
FACULTY
The staff of the school are grouped into Academic and non-academic staff.
The non-academic staff are responsible for management of the day to day operations of the
school. The Academic staff are responsible for teaching, and supervision of all practical
work. Each member of the academic staff is required to direct a short film with the students
and present the film at the end of semester premiere. At the end of the year all the films will
be pooled and the best selected for the best lecturer film award.
COMPETITIVE STRATEGY
Only 1 Film School is currently operating in Uyo which has the advantage of equipment and
Facility, but lack Academic and Technical depth, The management structure is also flawed
and D-Reels is poised to correct the flaws.
D-REELS STUDIOS
This is a fully commercial Production Studio that offer the following services
 Event Coverage
 Documentary Production
 Musical Video Production
 Equipment Hiring
 Video support services
 Post-Production Services
The management staff for the Studio are permanent staff but the technical crew will be
made up of students overseen by a lecturer.

INFRASTRUCTURE.

We hereby propose to train 20 students of Ikot Ekpene Indigene.

Tuition fee for 20 students = #1,000,000
Registration fee #2000* 20students= #40,000
Practicals #10,000* 20students= #200,000
Staff salary for 6 months duration = #720,000
2 resource persons for 6 months duration= #120000
TOTAL = #2,080,000
