(i) f(x) = 𝑥𝑥 2 − 2𝑥𝑥 − 8
𝑓𝑓(𝑥𝑥) = 𝑥𝑥 2 − 2𝑥𝑥 − 8 = 𝑥𝑥 2 − 4𝑥𝑥 + 2𝑥𝑥 − 8
= 𝑥𝑥(𝑥𝑥 − 4) + 2(𝑥𝑥 − 4)
= (𝑥𝑥 + 2)(𝑥𝑥 − 4)
Zeroes of the polynomials are -2 and 4
