Lesson One:

Watch BTN debates and discuss with class.

Play Four Corners with Mobile Phone topic.

Lesson Two:

Teach Persuasive devices and rhetorical questions as part of an argument. See Teachers Drive for
PPT and activities. Model to class and get students to write their own argument. (above topic)

Lesson Three:

Sugar should be banned

Brainstorm possible arguments for and against

Show and discuss writing frames.

Lessons Four/Five

Allocate students to debates. Research and write.
