SPACE, VISUAL DESIGN AND TEXTURE
A space is an important part of any visual design. Actually space is a blank space in a
composition. Space helps to distinguish the part that is important than the other parts. Space
is also an important to give depth and shape to an object. It helps to make visual design
interesting and adds contrast to it.
A composition can have any direction. Different directions of a composition have different
meanings. A visual flow through the composition is known as Directional Movement.
Directional movement can be created with the placement and size of shapes used in a
composition. Placement of light and dark areas also affects the visual flow through the
composition.
Surface quality is known as Texture. Everything which has a surface has texture. It ranges
from the smoothest polished mirror to the roughest sand papers like surface.
