    WHEEL FLAT
    Wheel flat is local fault which is caused by inappropri-
    ate braking, slippery rail, etc. This defect is more com-
    mon during winter and autumn. It costs heavy dam-
    ages to suspension system and railway infrastructure.
    It is also increase wheel and rail break possibility.
    If the flat spot is very small, the rail vehicle will be
    able to continue being used. The fault is removed lat-
    er in the wheelset. However for large flats safety is-
    sues needs to be considered.

    WHEEL FLAT DETECTOR


    An advanced low cost tool for diagnostic/prognostic
    monitoring of wheels in railway industry without
    causing any delay in network traffic. Only 3-5 meters
    of the track is occupied and totally adaptable to any
    operating system and signaling infrastructure. Eco-
    nomic advantages are stated as below:
