By the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to:-

LEARNING OBJECTIVE(S) Ask and answer questions about classroom objects at least 5 objects correctly and join
in with a song with guidance .

Pre-lesson :
1. Flash each flashcards very quickly in front of the class and ask What’s this ?
2. Pupils respond .

Lesson Delivery :
3. Pupils look at picture and teacher elicit what they can see on the desks .

6. Repeat the song if needed .

Post lesson :

8. Collect different ovjects and put them on the desk .

Pre-lesson
1. Play a game where the teacher says two words (from the textbook), one with /æ/ sound,
one with a different sound.
2. Pupils stand up when they hear the word with /æ/ and sit down when the word has no
/æ/.
Lesson delivery
3. Write the letter a on the board and ask pupils what it sounds like.
4. Sing or play the song (if you’re happy and you know it adaptation). Encourage pupils to

5. Ask pupils to tell you some words with the /æ/ sound. Write the words on the board.
6. Show pupils how to make a new verse using an /æ/ word If you’re happy and you know it
say ‘apple, apple’ for example.
7. Pupils work in pairs to create new verses and to practise singing them. Depending on your
pupils, you may need to support them in this.
8. Pairs perform their verses to the class.
