Overview

Use the Documentum Application Connectors Software Development Kit (DACSDK) to create EMC
Documentum Application Connectors that enable Microsoft Windows applications, such as rich
editors, to check in and check out files from Documentum repositories (and many other tasks, such
as searching repositories) through a combination of a .NET client assemblies and runtime services,
and components running on EMC Documentum Web Development Kit-based application server
applications (for example, Webtop).
EMC Documentum has used Documentum Application Connectors Software Development Kit to
create its application connectors for these Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint,
and Outlook.

Service Packs are cumulative. The current release contains fixes from all previous Service Packs
and Patches.

Fixed in Service Pack 2

There are no new fixed issues in the 6.7 SP2 release of Documentum Application Connectors Software
Development Kit.

Fixed in Service Pack 1

There are no new fixed issues in the 6.7 SP1 release of Documentum Application Connectors Software
Development Kit.

Known Issues

This section identifies known product issues and limitations that may affect your use of the product.

Issue Number Description

DAC-188 Uninstalling Documentum Application Connectors on a machine on which
the Documentum Application Connectors Software Development Kit is
already installed removes the Documentum menu from the TextEditor
sample application connector.

To resolve this issue, select EMC Documentum Application Connectors

Software Development Kit 6.7 in the Add or Remove Programs console,
click Change, and then select the Repair option. The Documentum menu
appears again in the TextEditor sample application connector.
DACSDK-42 When you open two virtual documents consecutively from the repository
in the DAC SDK TextEditor, the second document fails to open in the View
mode. The Open dialog box is displayed persistently every time you click
the View button. However, the document opens in the Edit mode when you
click the Edit button in the Open dialog box.
DACSDK-36 When you open a repository text file to edit or view it using the
TextEditorApp editor, the document title does not appear on the Title bar
of the editor.
DACSDK-23 Uninstalling the Documentum Application Connectors Software
Development Kit (by clicking Remove in Add/Remove Programs) on
a machine on which Documentum Application Connectors is already
installed, removes the Documentum menu in Documentum Application
Connectors.

To resolve this issue, double-click Documentum-AppConnectors-Client.exe

and select the Repair option. The Documentum Application Connectors
installation is repaired and the Documentum menu is displayed
again in Microsoft Office applications. See the EMC Documentum
WDK and Webtop Deployment Guide for more information about
Documentum-AppConnectors-Client.exe.
DACSDK-14 The log file (for example, MyTextEditorApp.log) is not created even
after configuring it in the *.exe.log4net.config file of your Documentum
Application Connector.

Known Issues

Issue Number Description

DACSDK-11 A "Post-Build Event" failed error occurs when you build the TextEditorApp
solution.

To resolve this issue, change the Post-build Event Command Line field of
each project from the hard-coded path to a valid path on your machine.
The Post-build Event Command Line field is on the Build Events tab of
the project property pages.
DACSDK-35 When you open the MDITextEditorApp editor for the first time after
installing Documentum Application Connectors Software Development Kit,
the Checkin option is not displayed in the MyCompany menu of the editor.

This issue occurs because the installer fails to prompt you to specify the
Webtop URL when you install Documentum Application Connectors
Software Development Kit the first time. As a result, the Checkin option
is not included in the default appintmenubar_menugroup.xml file of
Documentum Application Connectors Software Development Kit. The
MyCompany menu of the MDITextEditorApp editor displays only those
options that are specified in the file.

When you open the MDITextEditorApp editor for the first time after installing Documentum
Application Connectors Software Development Kit, the Checkin option is not displayed in the
MyCompany menu of the editor.
This issue occurs because the installer fails to prompt you to specify the Webtop URL when you
install Documentum Application Connectors Software Development Kit the first time. As a
result, the Checkin option is not included in default appintmenubar_menugroup.xml file of
Documentum Application Connectors Software Development Kit. The MyCompany menu of the
MDITextEditorApp editor displays only those options that are specified in the file.

To display the Checkin option in the My Company menu:

1. Select MyCompany > Preferences.

The Preferences dialog box appears.

2. Enter the Webtop URL in the URL field.
3. Click Test this address.
4. Click OK.
Documentum Application Connectors Software Development Kit automatically downloads the
appintmenubar_menugroup.xml file from Webtop that contains the Checkin option. The
MyCompany menu displays the Checkin option the next time you open the MDITextEditorApp
editor.
