Overview

Teachers will participate in a Google Expeditions training. This training will be used to introduce an
app that will increase student engagement in social studies classrooms. This app allows guided tours,
shows 3D images, 360 views of places around the world. The teachers will write reflections about the
effectiveness of this training in their PLC folder.

Assessment

Formative Assessment – Presenter led question and answer.


Formative Assessment – Observation of teachers using application and VR headsets.
Formative Assessment – Teachers will review presentation in PLC monthly notebook for department
head and principal to review.

Resources
Technology supports learning by:
Virtual field trips, student engagement, tearing down the walls of the classroom, putting students in charge
of their learning, and many more.
Necessary digital tools and resources:
Internet connection VR headset
(Can be used on smartphones as AR application)

Technology skills necessary:


Teachers will need to know what sites are offered by Google Expeditions and also know how to access the
guide option. The guide option allows teachers to guide students through sites and ask them questions
along the way.
