Seperating Definiton
Seperating means removing unwanted materials
How Newbalance does it: Seperating
● Start with large sheets of Fabric and staple them together in layers (Webbing).
● Metal Cutting Dies are use to cut material into smaller pieces in the shapes needed.
● Excess material is remove, leaving only the pieces that will be used in the sneaker.
Forming Definiton

Forming means using force to shape a material


How Newbalance Does it: Forming
The only Forming Newbalance uses is the cutting dice
Assembly Definiton

Assembly is putting the pieces together.


How Newbalance Does it: Assembly

● Newbalance sews most of the fabric pieces together. Sometimes they


use Robots to make it go by faster.
Molding Definiton

Molding is when you form an object in a mold


How Newbalance does it: Molding

● Newbalance places the soles into a mold wich creates the sole for them.
Casting Definiton

Casting is when you form something with molten

molten with stick them together.
Conditioning: Definition
● Conditioning is when you bring something to a certain state
How Newbalance Does it:
● Newbalance glues the soles on the shoes.
Finishing Definiton
● Finishing any final treatment on a product.
How NewBalance Does it: Finishing
● Newbalance sells the shoes and the product is
finished.
