Product Description

The high speed centrifugal spray dryer is a high effective new drying equipment. It can

make the solution, emulsion, suspension material to be dried powder or small granule. It has

fast drying speed, high effective, saves the working labors. It can keep the fine color, smell

and taste of the heat sensitive material. The dried final products have fine quality, well fluid

and instant well.

It is widely used in the chemical, building material, foodstuff, pharmaceutical and

biochemical industries.

Notes: the above information just for reference. The water evaporation capacity is
concerned with the material features, solid content and hot air temperature in and
out.
Working Principle

After filtrating and heating, the hot air enters the distributor at the top of the spray dryer.

The hot air is spirally and equally entered the drying chamber. Meanwhile, the material is

passed to the atomizer by the feeding pump. The material liquid will be sprayed into fine

mist beads. These beads are dried to fine powder or small granule in a short time. The

solid products fall down with the wet hot air, and collected by the cyclone, the wet air will be

discharged by the blower.

Features and Application of LPG/TPG Spray Dryer

1. A fast drying speed. The liquid after atomizing, it increases the surface area. It can be

evaporated 95-98% moisture in the high temperature hot air in a short time. The drying

process takes about several seconds.

2. The current type spray dryer can make the beads and hot air flowing in a same direction.

The hot air contacts with the liquid beads when it enters the drying chamber, this makes

the temperature inside the chamber falling down. This is very suitable for the heat

sensitive material drying process.

3. Widely application. As to the material features, the spray dryer can be used to hot air

drying, also can be used to cool air granulating. Many products can be made by this

equipment. Such as polymer, resin, dye material, ceramic, insecticide products,

carbohydrate products, blood products, detergent, fertilizer, organic compound, inorganic

compound, instant products, chemical and so on.

4. The drying process is finished in a short time, the final products all in a fine round shape.
It has fine dispersion, fluid and solubility.

5. Easy operation in the production. The spray dryer usually used to dry the solution with

about 40-60% moisture content, some special material with high 90% moisture also can

be dried into powder for one drying time. After drying, there is no need to mill and separate

the products. This reduces the produce process and improves the goods quality. The

spray dryer also can do well adjustments on the product’s size, density, moisture content in

some scope.

6. The machine is made with stainless steel where material contact with. The system is
controlled by computer, easy to operation.

Installation of LPG/TPG Spray Dryer

1. The spray dryer should install at a horizontal level, and put at a suitable place. Install the

support, lift, working platform, fans, atomizer, cyclone, heater and so on as to the

installation drawing. (LPG-5 is a whole finished plant)

2. Connect the power as to the electric drawing, have the control box at an easy operation

place. In order to have a safety production, we should set the earth line when install this

machine and electric control box. The exhaust port of the fan should be put as to the

present situation. The user has the exhaust pipes to make the wet air outside the room,

not to increase the humidity inside the house. And we can make the silencer of the fan to

reduce the noise.

Usage of the LPG/TPG Spray Dryer

In order to keep the goods quality, the machine should be cleaned before using. And

decide if it needs to be disinfected as to the products request.

Ⅰ、Check the followed before using

1、All the pipes and drying chamber should be cleaned before installation. If there is

sealing material at the connecting parts, and connect well.

2、The door and watch holes closed or not, if it air leak. If the collecting tank at the bottom

of the cyclone is sealing well. The tank should be clean and dried.
3、Check the engines run at a correct direction.

4、Check the feeding pump connect well. The running direction of the engine and pume

are all correct.

5、The atomizer is install well at the top, in avoid of air leak.

Ⅱ、Operation

1、First turn on the centrifugal fan, then turn on the heater and check if it is air leak. If it

works well, heat the air. Because the hot air is very important for the evaporation capacity

if the dryer, please try to increase the air temperature under the premise of the good
quality of the material.

2、Pre-heat the top place of the drying chamber where put the atomizer. The bottom of the

tower and collect port of the cyclone should be sealing well, in order to avoid the inlet

cool air, reduce the heat efficiency.

3、When the inlet air temperature reach the set temperature, turn on the atomizer. When

the atomizer runs at the highest speed, turn on the feeding pump. First sprays the clean

water for about 10 minutes, then changes to the raw material. The feeding capacity

should be adjusted very slowly, otherwise the material will stick on the chamber wall.

The material solid content to be adjust as to the material feature, in order to keep a fine

fluid of the dried powder.

4、The temperature and moisture content of final products is depended on the outlet air

temperature. So keep the outlet air at a stable temperature is very important during the

drying process. If the solid content of the material changed or the fluid flow changed, the

temperature of the outlet air will be changed.

5、If the temperature of the final product is too high, it can reduce the feeding capacity. If

the temperature is too low, it will increase the feeding capacity. For some heat sensitive

material, should add the feeding capacity to low down the exhaust air temperature. But

the temperature of products will be increased.

6、Collecting of the dried powder. It should exchange the collecting tank before it is full. The

butterfly valve should be closed when change the collecting tank.

7、If the final powder is hygroscopic, the cyclone and its pipes, collecting tank should be

bind up by the heat insulating material. This can avoid the product to moisture absorption.
Ⅲ、Machinery Clean

1、In order to keep the parts where contact with material clean, a regular equipment clean

is necessary.

2、When change the products, or stop produce over 24 hours not clean, it should have a

fully cleaning of the equipment.

3、Washing methods

(1)Dry clean: clean with the brush, broom and dust cleaner.

(2)Wet clean: clean with 60-80℃ hot water.


(3)Chemical clean: clean with lye, acid and detergent.

Acid clean: make the NHO3 acid to 1-2% content solution, heat to about 65℃ to

wash, then clean with water.

Lye clean: make the NaOH lye to 0.5-1% content solution, heat to about

60-80℃ to wash, then clean with water.

4、After the wet clean and chemical clean, install and connect the parts, and have a high

temperature disinfect for about 15-30 minutes.

5、This machine can not be cleaned with chlorine and its compound.

6、The clearance of the air filter is according to the dust content of the air. A lower dust

content will be cleaned every 3-6 weeks, a higher dust content will be cleaned every 6-8

weeks.

7、The stainless wire after lye clean, it should put into the filer frame equally, then sprayed

with some spindle oil and vacuum pump oil.

Maintenance of the Centrifugal Atomizer

To keep the centrifugal atomizer work stable at a high rotating speed, a good maintenance

is very important.

1、If there is noise and shaking during the spraying process, it should stop the machine

and take out the atomizer. To check if there is any impurity inside the spray disc, if yes,

please clean it.

2、Check the shaft, bush and the driving parts, such as the shaft and gear, if there is any

abnormity, please change the damaged parts right away.


3、The atomizer of driving by the high speed gear. It must be cooled by the recycle oil, make

the gear and shaft have a well lubricate. The viscosity of the oil should not too high.

4、In order to keep a long life of the atomizer, it is better to alternative use of the atomizer,

every 20 hours or according to the request. The lubricating oil of the rolling shaft should

be changed every 150-200 hours. When add the oil, the capacity may not reach the

highest level, half of the level is ok. Otherwise it may pollute the products.

5、After using, take off the atomizer, put it into the water, clean the left material on the

atomizer with clean water. If the material can not be washed with water, it can be
cleaned with brush. The left material on the atomizer will cause the atomizer disc not

balance. This will do harm to the atomizer and other parts.

6、During install and take off the atomizer, please take care of the main shaft. Have a better

control of the distance of atomizer disc and shell. The nuts tighten the disc should be screw

down. The atomizer can not be lay after using or during the transport, this may cause the

main shaft curved. It should put on a stable support. The detail should take reference to the

atomizer instruction.

Problem Analysis during the Production

During the produce process, there will be some problems happened. Especially the

new equipment, the new operation and lack of experience, may cause some problems.

Now the followed are some normally problems and the reasons, also the repair

measures.
