useful to success in this internship?

• Do you think it is beneficial to have a background in psychology for this

another region?

2. “Defining a waste material-Is it a waste or a product?” EPA Region 10.

• How much background legal knowledge is required for this internship?

• Is this internship more focused on the classification system or on the


materials in the wastes/products?

• What sort of training or direction is received prior to beginning


individual research for this project?

3. “Carbon Neutrality and Economic Development” Senior Legislative

• In what ways will direction and oversight be given?

• Will a student be able to be successful if he/she does not have a


substantial background in business?

city-wide organizations?

o How much training/guidance will be given prior to the onset of


independent work?
o Do you suggest a strong background in chemistry?

US with regards to lead paint? Is this a nationwide initiative that is
picking up steam recently? Why is Region 10 choosing to do this now?

• What sort of economic background/proficiency is required?

• Will the other jurisdictions that will be researched be used as role


models?

• Could the findings of this internship be used as a template for forming


policy in the future or perhaps in other regions?

6. “Effective Ways to Prevent Fires at Landfills Leads to Air Quality


Improvements” EPA Region 10. Representative: Gary Olson.

• To what extent is this focused on Native American landfills vs. landfills


in general?

• Could this research be applied to other sites?

• Why is this issue particularly prominent in the Northwest? Is it a matter


of the larger presence of Native Americans here?
