About EDRC India
 Established to cater the India projects with a broad spectrum of

Engineering, Design, Research and Consultancy services, ranging
from concept to commissioning of all types of projects:
 Buildings and Factories;

 Transportation and Infrastructure,
 Hydel, Geo technical and Nuclear projects;
 Metallurgical and Bulk Material Handling Projects,
 Water Supply and Treatment plants;
 Transmission lines, Substation, Electrical and Instrumentation projects
 The design works for the transmission lines, Substations, Electrical

and Instrumentation projects are being taken care by the Power
Transmission and Distribution (PT&D) EDRC.

• Regional Office is located at Doha for Qatar projects, for UAE cluster
(Dubai & Northern emirates) is at Dubai and separate office
established in Al ain & Abudhabi.

• Availability of Latest Softwares and In-house Training Facilities
• Design for Gulf & Africa is done from Chennai.
• Partnering with all Power Utilities in the gulf region

Tender stage assistance
During tender stage we assist in providing the following support
• Preparation of conceptual layout

• Preparation of BOQ for estimation purpose
• Pre order review of equipment data sheets and other
documents

Detail engineering after award of contract
Preparation of overall equipment layout.

Preparation of site setting out layout.
Preparation of earthing calculation and earthing grid layout.
Preparation of HVAC conceptual layout.
Preparation of fire protection system & other MEP conceptual layout.
Coordination with vendors and getting the documents approval from
authorities.
Preparation of various detail engineering documents & optimization.
Interdisciplinary coordination.
Interface engineering.
Arriving actual BOQ and coordination with SCM team for ordering.
Attending FAT and ensure that the equipment meets end user
requirements.
Assistance in providing dispatch clearance for the equipment. etc

Site & engineering design coordination
Points to be noted by site engineers

• Although the drawings are coordinated there may be some
discrepancies between disciplines. If such a difference is noted the
site engineer shall coordinate with engineering manager for final
solution.
• Before commencing any activity, please ensure that the document
followed is latest and is there any hold points in the drawing even it
is RFC stamped.
• Knock the right door.
• If in doubt, please lift the phone and speak.
• Site engineers shall note the difficulties faced in execution and help
design team to improve in future by notifying the consolidated list as
lessons learnt. This shall be addressed to all engineering managers
of EDRC.
