Dear Eurotruss client,

Congratulations with your choice of our high valuable Eurotruss products. This manual was written in
relation to German Standard SQP1 (Trusses) of the igvw. (Comparable to health&safety regulations and
ANSI Standards), and the EN 17115.

All national and local rules and regulations are mandatory for the users of our truss products, this manual
does not replace national regulations. Depending on the type of use, additional regulations like for
example outdoor constructions, can be mandatory.

We advise you to read this manual carefully before using our products. If you have any questions,
please do not hesitate to contact us. We wish you lots of success and fun with your products.

All Eurotruss equipment is manufactured in accordance to EN1090, and produced in Execution Class 3

Mounting and assembly
Checking truss:

• Only use original Eurotruss trusses and parts. • Are all parts fully functional?
• Are all parts for assembly available? • Check location for load-bearing capacity

Please note that the conical connector piece is

inserted with the marking to the outside and that the
longitudinal axis of the traverse belt tube is aligned
with the longitudinal axis of the conical connector
piece.

1. Align the truss on an even surface.

4. Now insert the conical taper pin through the

hole provided (see pictures on page left bottom)
and make sure that you insert the conical taper
pin correctly.

5. Use a hammer to drive the taper pin into the

holes so that the parts are firmly connected.
This creates a tolorance-free connection between
the traverses.
2. Insert the conical connector pieces on one
side into the receiver of the truss and connect
Tip:
them with the conical taper pin.
Simultaneous insertion of the conical taper pins
and subsequent locking (tightening) simplifies the
adjustment of the conical connector pieces.

It is only recommended that the conical tapered pins

are finally tightened after the components have been
successfully connected.
3. The second truss is positioned in front of
the the first and the receiver is pushed over This tip especially simplifies the assembly of complex
the connector pieces of the first truss. shapes such as ellipses, circles or other constructions.

Lifting gear / load handling attachment
Slings are for example:

• Round slings made of fibres

• Round slings with wire rope core (steel sling)
• Lifting straps
• Steel ropes (sling ropes)
• Steel chains (sling chains)
• Shackle
• Oval suspension links (omega)
• Quick-release fastener for chain
• Detachable wire rope with end connections

Load handling devices are for example:

6. If both components are now locked the
connecting pins are hammered in firmly and • Beam clamps
secured against falling out with an R-clip (or a • Truss handing adapter
self-locking nut - if a threaded taper pin is used). • Pipe clamp with handing point/eye

Attention:

• A combination hammer with synthetic and steel

cap is recommended for driving in the conical
taper pins.

• For long standing assembly / disassembly

we recommend conical taper pins with thread
instead of R-clips.

• The load data of the individual Eurotruss

systems can be found on our website (load

Webbing of Truss during assembly
General
The members of a truss element are main tubes and braces. The framework (webbing) of a truss element should be built
out of triangles. The triangle shaped are strong because of only pressure and tension forces in the members.
A static calculation is the basics of the strength of a truss element or truss system. A truss system is designed to exist out of
several parts so the connection between two parts should not weaken the truss construction.

Connecting truss elements

When assembling truss elements the construction must not be weakened. The truss elements must be assembled in the
correct mounting position. When two truss elements are connected, the diagonal structure must be maintained. Truss
elements with vertical end brace can be assembled asymmetrically if evidence is provided theat the load-bearing
capacity of the structure will not be weakened as a result.

Example Slick Fork-end truss without end bracing, Webbing must be continuous

Statement
If there is a vertical and horizontal straight end brace.
Eurotruss systems all have an end brace which means that in case the braces do not meet in one point, the vertical/ horizontal
component of the force in the bracing is transmitted through this end brace to the beginning of the next brace. The truss has
100% load capacity, even when the diagonals do not meet in one point. See below example.

Both examples shown above have100% load capacity.

If there is no vertical and horizontal straight end brace.

If there’s no vertical and horizontal brace at the end (for example with Slick, Camco or Thomas) you reduce the load capacity
of the truss with approximately 80% when the braces do not meet in one point. The main tube will be bended by the vertical/
horizontal component of the force in the bracing. See below example.

Example as shown above has approximately 20% loading capacity left.
