SUBTASK 940-001-A
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE AIRCRAFT IS IN A SAFE CONDITION BEFORE YOU DO
THE MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES. THIS IS TO PREVENT INJURY TO
PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO THE EQUIPMENT.
(1) Do the procedure to make the aircraft safe for maintenance (AMM TASK
20-00-00-910-801-A/200 ).
(2) Do the procedure to make the aircraft safe for maintenance of the powerplant (AMM
TASK 71-00-00-910-801-A/200 ).
(3) Connect an external pneumatic power source (GSE 209 or a GSE 210) to the aircraft
(AMM TASK 36-00-00-863-801-A/300 ). Do not start it at this moment.
SUBTASK 710-001-A
(4) To make sure that the AMS controller channels are not defective, do as follows:
(a) Connect the external AC power supply to the aircraft (AMM TASK
24-42-02-860-801-A/200 ).
(b) On the MCDU (AMM SDS 34-61-00/1 ), make sure that these circuit breakers are
closed:
• SPDA2 PWR SPLY 1-RICC (DC BUS 2)
• The EICAS advisory message AMS CTRL FAULT comes into view if
channel 1 or channel 2 is defective.
• No related EICAS message comes into view if the two AMS channels are
operational.
SUBTASK 860-001-A
(5) Make sure that the AIR COND/PNEUMATIC system is operational.
NOTE: Make sure that no related message shows on the EICAS display.
(6) Use the CCD to select the ECS synoptic page on MFD 1.
(7) Use the CCD to select the ANTI-ICE synoptic page on MFD 2.
(8) On the overhead panel, on the AIR COND/PNEUMATIC control panel, set these
pushbuttons to the unlatched (off) position (a striped bar comes into view):
• PACK 1
• PACK 2
• BLEED 1
• BLEED 2
• BLEED APU
• RECIRC
(9) Make sure that these CAS messages do not come into view during the test:
• BLEED 1 LEAK
• BLEED 2 LEAK
• PACK 2 LEAK
• BLEED 1 FAIL
• BLEED 2 FAIL
• XBLEED FAIL
(10) Make sure that an amber striped bar does not come into view on these pushbuttons
during the test:
• BLEED 1
• BLEED 2
• BLEED APU
(11) On the overhead panel, on the AIR COND/PNEUMATIC control panel, set the
XBLEED pushbutton to the latched (auto) position (the striped bar goes out of view).
Result:
1 On the ECS synoptic page:
• FCV1 and FCV2 show closed during the engine start and open after
the engine start.
• PACK 1 and PACK 2 indications show in white during the engine start
and in green after the engine start.
2 On the ANTI-ICE synoptic page:
• APU valve and XBLD valve show open.
• PACK 2
• BLEED 2
Result:
1 On the PACK 1, PACK 2, and BLEED 2 pushbuttons, a striped bar goes out
of view.
• PACK 1 and PACK 2 indications show in white during the engine start
and in green after the engine start.
3 On the ANTI-ICE synoptic page:
• BLEED 2 and XBLD valve show open.
(q) On the overhead panel, on the AIR COND/PNEUMATIC control panel, set the
BLEED 1 pushbutton to the latched (auto) position.
Result:
1 The EICAS message BLEED 1 OFF goes out of view.
2 On the BLEED 1 pushbutton, a striped bar goes out of view.
3 On the ECS synoptic page:
• FCV1, FCV2, BLEED 1 valve, and XBLD valve show open.
(u) On the overhead panel, on the AIR COND/PNEUMATIC control panel, set the
BLEED 1 pushbutton to the unlatched (off) position. After two minutes, see the
results.
Result:
1 On the BLEED 1 pushbutton, a striped bar comes into view.
2 The EICAS message BLEED 1 OFF comes into view.
3 On the ECS synoptic page:
• FCV1, FCV2, BLEED 2 valve, and XBLD valve show open.
NOTE: An amber "X" can show above the LH and RH EAI valve, this is a
normal condition.
5 Airflow from general outlets stops.
• PACK 2
• XBLEED
(2) Disconnect the external AC power supply from the aircraft (AMM TASK
24-42-02-860-802-A/200 ).
