Today we are learning some more about America.
America is the second biggest continent. It is divided into there parts:
North, Central and south.
Mexico is in the couth of North America.
Peru, our country, is in South America. Other countries in
South America are: Ecuador and Colombia. North of Peru; Venezuela, next
to Colombia; Chile, south of Peru; Brazil east of Peru and next to
Argentina; Paraguay and Uruguay. There are places of interest to visit in
South America. For example: Machu Picchu in Peru; Rio de Janeiro, famous
for its beaches, in Brazil. Between Argentina, Brazil and Paraguay, you can
see the Iguazu Falls.
Between Peru and Bolivia you can see lake Titicaca.
There are other beautiful countries and islands that are part of the
American continent, too.

FLAG’S DAY

On June 7th 1880 the Battle of Arica took place. This was during the
pacific war between Peru and Chile. Francisco Bolognesi and a group of
soldiers decided to stay in Arica and to defend the Peruvian Flag from
Chilean troops. A young soldier called Alfonso Ugarte preferred to die
rather than to let the enemy take our flag.
We celebrate Flag’s Day on June 7 th, to honor those who defended our
flag so bravely.
