SCHEME I
A. INTRODUCTION OF PROGRAMME
Modern life is dependent on things provided by Industry. The curriculum honours
expectations of the Industry. The Industries employ the successful candidates in the
Management Cadre in Safety, Health and Environment at the level of Safety Professionals as
required under the Environment Protection Act, enlisting Legislation and other Acts in
various capacities like Consultant, Expert Safety Auditor under the Statutes of the
Government of India and Govt. of Maharashtra. supervisory/Inspector cadre, as management
cadre which has respect in the society.
This curriculum is designed to develop professionals who demonstrate not just strong
problem solving acumen and analytical skills but also great interpersonal skills. The student
of this course imbibe in them a sense of ownership towards the business and the society at
large. Curriculum through this course gives insights for managing Safety, Health &
Environment in industries and this helps to develop safe work culture in industries & in
societies.
The aims of this course are:
To induce lifelong learning knowledge skills, attitudes for social & personal development.
1) To provide trained Human Resource.
2) To provide leadership qualities.
3) To create awareness of “The Quality of Life Protection” through Safety, Health and
Environment.
4) To create awareness of hazards & operational hazards.
5) To assist in development of new methods & process of Safety, Health and Environment
skills and analytical techniques.
6) To develop managerial abilities and analytical skills ,training, communicate with the
community and interaction with government and statutory authorities
7) To train the people concerned.
B. APPROACH TO DESIGN OF REVISED CURRICULUM OF MAHARASHTRA
STATE GOVERNMENT APPROVED SHORT TERM DIPLOMA AND
ADVANCE DIPLOMA PROGRAMMES.
The Project is taken up to revise the curriculum which was implemented since 2008-09. The
methodology is to assess the present Industry/Society needs, revisit the earlier curriculum and
make suitable changes.
The programmes are specialized and shall impart essential skills to generate self-employment
or provide industry-ready manpower.
In the present phase, four groups are identified for revision for implementation w.e.f. 2017-
18.
Each Programme shall have Coordinator, Co-coordinator and Subject experts who will work
for developing curriculum with the following objectives.
1. Identify sectors where the students can seek employment.

gained by the students during their tenure of the industrial safety programme, the transfer of
learning that has taken place as well as their exposure to industrial environment and its
safety; so that many faceted development of the students can be achieved under various skills
of domains such as Personal, social, professional & lifelong learning. The students will be
benefited lot by this exercise of preparation of project on their safety experiences which will
certainly add values in their attitudes such as value for health, work commitment,
hardworking, honesty, problem solving, punctuality, loyalty and independent study. The
Student should also make a brief presentation about the project and the salient observations
and findings.
The Project report should essentially consists of the following
