Every morning I would wake up to the sounds of automobiles as my house was very close to
the road. These peculiar sounds made by the vehicles grabbed my attention on how they
produced it and the reason behind it. This led me to learn more about automobiles and different
types of mechanisms used for its working. My curiosity to learn about these vehicles led me to
pursue my Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering. I felt that engineering would be the area
which would give me the opportunity to learn and explore how the fundamentals of science are
applied to create technology for practical purposes. Moreover my innate strengths have always
been creative abilities and imagination, which made me take up a discipline that would allow
me to channel them in a best possible way.
Right from the start of my basic education the quest for knowledge has been the primary goal
in my life. My interest towards subjects like Engineering Mechanics, Kinematics of machines,
Dynamics of Machines, Thermodynamics, Electrical Circuits and Machines, Fluid Mechanics,
Hydraulic Machines and Systems, Control Systems and Theory, Finite Element Analysis
disclosed me to limitless horizons in the field of Mechanical Engineering. The utilization of
computers and priority given to them in every discipline of engineering and their role in the
manufacturing procedures has led me to learn design application software packages like NX
8.5 and ANSYS.
My undergraduate study has been a richly rewarding experience. I have done an industrial
oriented mini project in Hyundai where I got to know about the technology used in Hyundai
and how the petrol automobile engine works. Industrial exposure is very important to
understand things in practical situations. My visit to “South central Railway” demonstrated the
various techniques implemented to connect bogeys, components used in it and various ways to
find fault in a particular machine part if it exists. In my visits to the industries like “Bharat
Heavy Electricals Limited” and “Mahindra and Mahindra” I learnt the difference between the
laboratory work and working in the real environment.
After scrutinizing your website I realize that by taking graduate studies at FH Aachen, I could
develop the ability to work more efficiently and become more responsible towards my work.
In order to make a strong contribution in this field of study FH Aachen with its unique graduate
program provides a platform to embark upon an academic career. The research project on
Automated charging systems for electric vehicles being carried out by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Thilo Röth
is very much innovative. Moreover wide range of opportunities provided by the University
with regard to cooperation, research and development in cooperation with the scientists and
affiliated institutes which offers advice and support to the activities and project ideas would
help me go long way in my career.
I look forward to a challenging career in research which may even be onerous at times but I am
hopeful that with my sincerity and dedication, I will be able to put up a significant contribution
to the ongoing research developments. I hope to live up to the high standards expected of your
university.
