24/7 Application Support & Server Monitoring : Supporting 400+ UNIX (Linux, AIX
and Solaris) servers. Which include server health (CPU, Memory & Disk Utilization) &
availability of servers using
OpManager v7.0 tool. Carry out initial investigation and provide L-2 support on the alerts
received.
L2-L3 Technical Support : Provide technical support on linux related issues in the ‘Next
Desk’ ticketing system used by customer.
On Call Support : ‘OnCall’ support for issues reported by customer Helpdesk and the
application owners for the monitored servers.
Code Rolls : The application development team at Insight releases various patches and
updates for the applications supporting the Insight business. These updates are required to
be rolled out on the production servers as schedule.
Backup Management : Scheduling backup using crontab and restoration of backup files
file in case of corrupt or removed.
User And Groups Management : New user account addition assigning them proper
groups and necessary servers access.
NIS And Samba User Accounts management: Creation and deletion of NIS and samba
user accounts.
FTP and NFS (Automount ) : Implementation of FTP and NFS for file Sharing and using
automount for mounting user’s home directory.
Raid and LVM : Configuration and monitoring of raid status and LVM.
Sendmail and postfix : Implementation of mail server like sendmail and postfix.
Apache and Samba: Installation and configuration of Samba and Apache servers.
