    Johannes Kepler was born in 1571 in Germany. He showed an early interest in astronomy after witnessing a lunar eclipse with his mother at age 9. As an adult, Kepler served as a mathematics and astronomy teacher and made several important discoveries about optics and the motion of planets. He discovered that planets move in elliptical orbits with the Sun at one focus, that the time to traverse an orbital arc is proportional to the sector area, and that there is a relationship between periodic times and orbital radii.     Johannes Kepler was born on December 27, 1571,

    in Weil der Stadt , a small town in the Holy Empire ,


    now is Germany. Kepler was only 5 years old when
    his father, Heinrich Kepler , earned precarious
    living as a mercenary soldier , and it is believed that
    his father died in war. Kepler went to a local school
    for his early education and for his University of
    Tubingen , then (as now) a baston of Lutheran
    Orthodoxy , there he studied philosophy. At the age
    of 23, Kepler served as the teacher of mathematics
    and astronomy at the Protestants school in Graz,
    Austria in 1594.

    ASTRONOMICAL WORK

    Kepler’s mother used to show him heavenly things


    including lunar eclipse to create interest for nature.
    Kepler never forgot the view of the lunar eclipse , he
    witnessed with his mother at the age of 9, for his the
    rest of his life. This is also brought up the interest
    for Kepler which later transformed as greatest
    insight and grasp for the solar system and for lunar
    eclipse and also Kepler discovered Three Main Laws
    of Planetary Motion commonly defined as follows :
    (1)the planets move in elliptical orbits with the sun
    at one focus .( LAW OF ELLIPSES) ; (2) he time
    necessary to traverse any arc of a planetary orbit is
    proportional to the area of the sector between the
    central body and that arc(THE AREA LAW) ; and (3)
    there is an exact relationship between the squares
    of the planets ‘ periodic times and the cubes of the
    radii of their orbits (HARMONIC LAW).

    KEPLER OPTICS
    WORK
    Kepler discovered the inverse square law of light
    intensity in 1604. Kepler provided the first correct
    mathematical theory of the camera obscura and the
    explanation of the human eye. Kepler wrote a study
    of the properties of lenses and developed an
    innovative explanation for the behaviour of light in
    the newly invented telescope now usually known as
    a KEPLERIAN TELESCOPE.

    MARRIED LIFE OF
    JOHANNES KEPLER

    Kepler first marriage was with Barbara Muller,


    arranged through a broken. Barbara died at young
    age . Then he married Susanna Reuttingger in 1613,
    but the second marriage was a matter of practical
    necessity. Kepler need someone to take care of
    children.
    DEATH OF
    JOHANNES KEPLER

    Kepler died after failing ill at the age of 58, on


    November 15, 1630 in the German city of
    Regensburg.
