2 Details of Release
This document details the changes made from the Point Colour v9.0c0020 release to the v9.0c0021
release.
2.1 Overview
2.1.1 Improvement – SDI-12 corruption
Data responses from SDI-12 sensors are now checked that they are from the configured sensor.
This improves the resilience of SDI-12 to prevent erroneous conditions.
2.1.2 Improvement – eMMC Background Operations
The Point Blue uses eMMC memory for storage of non-volatile data, including configuration and
firmware upgrade files. On occasion this eMMC card has become corrupted resulting in failure when
writing these files causing the unit to appear unresponsive.
This improvement has been made to ensure that the eMMC performs background operations, so
that the eMMC does not degrade in performance or corrupt its filesystem.
Please note that after upgrading to v9.0c0021 the RTU will immediately start performing background
operations if required. Whilst this is being performed the Point Blue may be slower to respond to
commands from Poco+, however once complete and the Point Blue will operate normally.
2.1.3 Improvement – Accepting WITS IC
Previous version of the firmware would reject firmware for WITS IC records Analogue Limits (1003),
Binary States (1006) and DNP3 Object Flag Actions (1009) if the point did not have a valid DNP3
class.
A change has been introduced to accept these IC files by forcing the point to use DNP3 event class
1, as a default setting. In addition, if the DNP3 variation is not suitable it will be changed to ensure
that AI values of the correct precision are used along with timestamps where appropriate. This affects
WITS only.
2.1.4 Bug Fix – DNP3 IIN
The DNP3 IIN bits point (AI21) was not displaying the Configuration Corrupt IIN bit when it had been
set. This has been corrected to ensure that when the bit is set, the point indicates this.
2.1.5 Bug Fix – WITS serial
It was found that when configured for WITS with a serial sensor (Modbus, SDI-12 or Mainstream),
the sensor would be read once at power up, but not when trended. This has been resolved to ensure
the serial is read as for all other stacks.
2.1.6 Bug Fix – WITS Configuration Writing
For any WITS configuration that includes a Modbus CI, when the master sends any IC file, the RTU
will fail to include the action for the COMM_LOST DNP3 flag. This would prevent Poco+ from opening
the configuration as it was deemed invalid.
When a WITS-DNP3 master sent an IC record 1 to update the connection details, if the port number
in the IC matched the existing port number the BCF would not be updated correctly. This would
prevent Poco+ from opening the configuration file and the Point Colour from contacting the master.
These problems have been resolved.

2.1.7 Bug Fix – Modem CSQ

For value change events on DNP3, additional events were being generated on the Modem CSQ
(AI10) point at the start of every connection. This has been changed to only generate an event after
the CSQ has stabilised to prevent false events.
When a received signal strength with a value of 31 is seen, the bit error rate is now used to determine
if the modem is registered or is still in the process of registering.
2.2 Contents of release
