EQUIPMENT REQUIRED:
WORK PROCEDURE:
1. The surface level of WMM on which the road kerb is to be laid is to be made
up with the leveling course in order to lay the kerb. The level will be
maintained and checked in reference to the finishing level of the roadwork
with auto Level through sensor system of machine.
5. String / guide wires for level control shall be fixed prior to kerb laying.
6. Kerb machine shall be put in place and M-20 Grade concrete shall be fed
into hopper by the transit mixer. The machine shall be operated in
accordance with control mechanisms and the kerb shall be laid in
accordance with the required cross sections, lines and levels as given in the
drawings and / or as approved by the Engineer such that a well-compacted
mass of concrete kerb which is free of voids and honeycombs shall be
produced.
7. After laying the kerb and just prior to hardening of the concrete, full depth
groove on kerb shall be sawn at 5 m intervals or as directed by the Engineer
as soon as possible without damaging the concrete.
TOLERANCE LIMITS:
SAFETY PROCEDURE:
1. All trucks and tankers etc. Shall be provided with reverse horns.
2. All exit points of the trucks/ tippers shall be marked with safety cones and
caution boards.
3. Flagman shall be provided at all exit of trucks/tippers.
4. The speed of vehicles in the work shall be restricted to 30 Kmph. Maximum.
5. Proper PPEs viz, shoes, safety Jackets etc. Shall be used.
6. Where it is necessary to close the traffic on the existing highway for
construction and divert the traffic on to an alternative route. The diversion
road shall have fluent geometry and maintained in traffic worthy condition
such that traffic can safely negotiate.
7. Safety as per IRC-SP-55-2001 may be taken up in location warranting need.
