Paradise & Tahajjud
Paradise & Tahajjud
Paradise & Tahajjud
Yusuf said to his father: “O my father! Verily, I saw in a dream eleven stars and the sun and the moon – I saw them
prostrating themselves to me.” (12:4) Results of a True Dream: And he raised his parents upon the throne and his brothers fell
down in prostration before him, and he said: “O my father! This is the significance of my vision of old; my Lord has indeed
made it to be true; and He was indeed kind to me when He brought me forth from the prison and brought you from the desert
after the Shaytan had sown dissensions between me and my brothers, surely my Lord is benign to whom He pleases; surely He
is the Knowing, the Wise.” (Qur'an 12:100)
This is his narration of his dream: “During the Prophetic era, I saw a dream in which I was riding a piece of brocade
which let me fly to any place in Paradise I wished. Then I saw two men approaching me, intending to take me to hell,
but an angel met them saying, ‘Don’t be afraid,’ so they left me. My sister Hafsah radiAllahu anhu narrated the dream
to the Prophet sallallaahu 'alayhi wa salaam, who said, ‘What an excellent man Abdallah is. If he is praying at night,
then let him pray more.” From that day until he met with Allah, he never stopped performing his night prayer, neither while
staying in one place nor while traveling. He was frequently praying, reciting the Qur’an, and praising Allah. Like his father
Umar radiAllahu anhu, his tears rolled down abundantly whenever he heard a warning verse in the Qur’an.
The best dream I had was of Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu 'alayhi wa salaam. In the dream I was sitting in a dark room crying. Suddenly a gold
door appeared in front of me. The door said to me, "Don't cry and come inside." When I went in, I was in such a beautiful garden. There were all
sorts of flowers and different colored streams of water and honey. I heard laughing and talking further on, so I walked through this garden, and each
step I took the garden just got more beautiful and different in color. I saw a really bright gold table with food I have never seen before on this table.
There were sweets and different shapes of fruit on the table. There were also crystal cups with drinks with at least 100 different shades of color.
Sitting around the table were all extremely handsome looking Muslims. I saw one Muslim holding a staff in his right hand so I was thinking that
could be Musa 'Alayhi Salaam, and then another Muslim I saw with long wavy hair with pearls falling from his head, so I thought that was 'Isa
Alayhi Salaam. There were at least 100 Muslims around this table. At the head of the table a Muslim turned around and faced me. Mashaa Allah I
will never forget his face. His eyes were darker than black pearls and there was a beautiful light shining from his face. As he smiled at me I felt this
warmth and this sweet smelling musk go over my body. He said Salam to me and called me by my full name. I asked him who he was. He said, “I
am the final Messenger of Allah and my name is Muhammad Ibn Abdullah sallallaahu 'alayhi wa salaam. I want you to sit next to me.” A gold
chair appeared next to him so I sat there facing him. He took my hand in his hand. It felt so warm and nice. He said something that even made me
cry in my sleep. He said, “Don't cry because of the hardships of this life. Cry for the forgiveness of Allah. Don't cry and feel sad for Allah
will never leave you alone to suffer. He is with the believer who calls his name. He smiles to the believer who repents. He loves the believer
who runs to him in struggle. And on The Day that is coming, you will see how much love and comfort He gives to those Muslims who
suffered for Him.”
A person narrated his dream: “I see six water springs and every spring has one of the six supplications written on it. Water is gushing out
from each spring and forms a canal. I am feeling very sick in the dream and I hear a voice from the divine that says ' drink from this canal
you will acquire bounties beyond your imagination.' The person went on to say that in his dream he drank the water. And the water was so
sweet and tasteful that I cannot describe. When I woke up, I could still feel the sweetness of the water in my mouth.”
A person narrated, “I have seen a very devout elderly person and that devout has endorsed the accomplishments of a
Dervish. The devout person went on to emphasize that these supplications should be recited with immense concentration
and that these six supplications are similar to six seas. The more you read them, the more you will earn the pearls of
wonders. After reading these six seas, never fall prey to doubt or suspicion as the one who desires to reach to the heights
of religious wisdom and ranks, he should never abandon these six supplications.”
Abu Bakr (RA) narrated his dream and exclaimed, “Last night I saw the Beloved Prophet in my dream and He said to me that a
person on whom Paradise has become obligatory will visit you tomorrow, and when he comes treat him with respect. Abu Bakr
(RA) goes on to narrate that a day or two after this incident occurred, I once again saw the Beloved Prophet in my dream and He
said to me, ‘O Abu Bakr! May Allah honor and give you respect in the same way as you treated a Jannati.’ Abu Bakr (RA) narrates
that I asked the Beloved Prophet how come Shibli (RA) has this special honor and respect? The Beloved Prophet replied that Shibli recites
the verse (Surah Taubah, 128-129) after every obligatory Salaah, five times a day and he has been doing so for 80 years now. Hadhrat Abu
Bakr bin Mujahid went on to say that in his dream he saw Hadhrat Shibli radiAllahu anhu at the august court of the Beloved Prophet. The
Beloved Prophet stood up and kissed the forehead of Hadhrat Shibli radiAllahu anhu and upon my insistence, the Beloved Prophet said
that; after every prayer, Hadhrat Shibli radiAllahu anhu recites until the end of Surah Taubah 128-129.
A woman narrated her dream and she mentioned that she had been reciting this wazifa for the last eleven years and had seen many
dreams in this context. “ I see a huge palace that is completely white but there is no door to go inside. I get tired of trying to
find the entrance to the palace. Suddenly, It struck me that I usually recite six supplications after every obligatory Salaah, so
why not recite them in this difficult moment as well? I recited these six supplications. Just as I had finished reading them, six
doors appeared leading to the palace. A few people were standing at each door to welcome me. I entered the door that was
closest to me and asked, “What is this?” They replied that it is the wonder of the supplications you recite after every
obligatory Salaah. And I woke up after that.”
Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying : When Resurrection time is near, a believer's dream can hardly be false. And the
truest vision will be of one who is himself the most truthful in speech, for the vision of a Muslim is the forty-fifth part of Prophecy, and dreams are of three types: one
good dream which is a sort of good tidings from Allah ; the evil dream which causes pain is from the satan ; and the third one is a suggestion of one's own mind; so
if any one of you sees a dream which he does not like he should stand up and offer prayer and he should not relate it to people, and he said: I would love to see
fetters (in a dream), but I dislike wearing of necklace, for fetters means steadfastness in one's religion. The narrator said: “I do not know whether this is a part of the
hadith or the words of Ibn Sirin.”

O Allah! Shower blessings on Muhammad, our Master, and his Family such blessings by means of which Thou may relieve us of all anxieties and calamities. Thou may satisfy all our needs. Thou may clean us
of all evils and thanks for which Thou may grant us high position and high rank and status in Thy presence, and Thou may lead us to the utmost limit of our aspirations and capacity in whatever is best in this
world as well as in the world Hereafter, as Thou has the full Power over everything.
This Durood Shareef is always a cure for all calamities in the world of worldly affairs. It was taught by Sayyiduna Rasoolullah (Sallal
Laahu Alaihi Wasallim) himself. To recite this Durood Shareef 70 times during days of calamity, turmoil and trouble, is a must. It works wonders.
All the Saints have unanimously given verdict that Durood-e-Tunajjina is the best cure of all ills and all calamities of this world. The great Scholar,
Saint, Jurist and author, Imam ibn-Faikihani (radi Allahu anhu) says that there was once a pious man called Sheikh Moosa Zareer (radi Allahu
anhu). He embarked on a voyage by ship. Due to a heavy storm, the ship started sinking. All the passengers on board started crying and clamouring,
but Sheikh Moosa Zareer (radi Allahu anhu) went to sleep. He saw the Holy Prophet (Sallal Laahu Alaihi Wasallim) in his dream and the Prophet
(Sallal Laahu Alaihi Wasallim) directed him and the passengers to recite Durood-e-Tunajjina 1 000 times. Sheikh Moosa Zareer (radi Allahu anhu)
got up and started the recitation. As soon as he finished 300 Durood Shareefs, the storm subsided and the ship was saved. The other ship on the
high seas sank, but this ship reached its destination safely and soundly. This miracle was a sufficient eye-opener for the members of the ship. It was
by the Grace of Allah Ta'ala and Durood-e-Tunajjina that all were saved.
Hajat Dua
Hazrat Abullah ibn Abi Awfa RA relates that the Messenger of Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said, “Whoever has a need with Allah, or with any human being, then let them
perform ritual ablutions well and then pray two Rakats. After that, let them praise Allah and send blessings on the Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam). After this, let them say:
Laaa ilaaha illa Allahul Halimul kareem, Subhanallahi Rabbil Arshil Azeem, Alhamdu

Meaning: There there no god but Allah the Clement and Wise. There is no god but Allah the High and Mighty. Glory be to Allah, Lord of the
Tremendous Throne. All praise is to Allah, Lord of the worlds. I ask you (O Allah) everything that leads to your mercy, and your tremendous
forgiveness, enrichment in all good, and freedom from all sin. Do not leave a sin of mine (O Allah), except that you forgive it, nor any
concern except that you create for it an opening, nor any need in which there is your good pleasure except that you fulfill it, O Most Merciful!

The Price of Paradise:
Hadith on Heavenly Wonders, Jannat, Firdaws & Angelic Behaviours of Paradise's Gardens
Narrated from Abu Huraira radi Allahu Anhu:
Allah's Messenger ( )ﷺsent a Sariya of ten men as spies under the leadership of `Asim bin Thabit al-Ansari, the grandfather of` Asim bin` Umar Al-Khattab. They
proceeded till they reached Hadaa, a place between 'Usfan, and Mecca, and their news reached a branch of the tribe of Hudhail called Bani Lihyan. About two
hundred men, who were all archers, hurried to follow their tracks till they found the place where they had ate dates they had bought with them from Medina. They
said, "These are the dates of Yathrib (ie Medina)," and continued following their tracks When Asim and his companions saw their pursuers, they went up a high
place and the infidels circled them. The infidels said to them, "Come down and surrender, and we promise and guarantee you that we will not kill any one of you"
`Asim bin Thabit; the leader of the Sariya said, "By Allah! I will not come down to be under the protection of infidels. O Allah! Convey our news to Your Prophet.
men, and three men came down accepting their promise and convention, and they were Khubaib-al-Ansari and Ibn Dathina and another man So, when the infidels
captured them, they undid the strings of their bows and tied them. of the captives) said, "This is the first betrayal. By Allah! I will not go with you. No doubt these,
rarely the martyred, have set a good example to us. "So, they dragged him and tried to compel him to accompany them, but as he refused, they killed him. They
took Khubaid and Ibn Dathina with them and sold them (as slaves) in Mecca (and all that took place) after the battle of Badr. Khubaib was bought by the sons of Al-
Harith bin 'Amir bin Naufal bin `Abd Manaf. It was Khubaib who had killed Al-Harith bin 'Amir on the day (of the battle of) Badr. So, Khubaib remained a prisoner
with those people. Narrated Az-Zuhri: 'Ubaidullah bin' Iyyad said that the daughter of Al-Harith had told him, "When those people gathered (to kill Khubaib) he
borrowed a razor from me to shave his pubes and I gave it to him. he took a son of mine while I was unaware when he came on him. I saw him placing my son on
his thigh and the razor was in his hand. Are you afraid that I will kill him? No, I will never do so. ' By Allah, I never saw a prisoner better than Khubaib . By Allah,
one day I saw him eating of a bunch of grapes in his hand while he was chained in irons, and there was no fruit at that time
in Mecca. "" The daughter of Al-Harith used to say, “It was when they took him out of the Sanctuary (of Mecca) to kill him outside
his boundaries, Khubaib asked them to let him offer two rak`at (prayer). at and then said, "Had not I been afraid that you would
think that I was afraid (of being killed), I would have prolonged the prayer. O Allah, kill them all with no exception.” He then recited
the poetic verse: - “I being martyred as a Muslim, Do not mind how I am killed in Allah's Cause.”
These 10 Companions of the Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه وآله وصحبه وسلمare promised Paradise while living.

7 TYPES WHO WILL ENTER JANNAH
The Prophet said: “There are seven whom Allaah will shade in His Shade on the Day when there is no shade except His Shade: a just ruler; a
youth who grew up in the worship of Allaah, the Mighty and Majestic; a man whose heart is attached to the mosques; two men who love each other
for Allaah's sake, meeting for that and parting upon that; a man who is called by a woman of beauty and position , but be says: 'I fear Allaah', a
man who gives in charity and hides it, such that his left hand does not know what his right hand gives in charity; and a man who remembered
Allaah in private and so his eyes shed tears.' Narrated by Abu Hurairah & collected in Saheeh al-Bukhari; vol.1, p.356, no.629 & Saheeh Muslim, vol.2, p.493, no.2248.
1. 'A Just Ruler...' The concept of justice is most important for the Ruler, since he is in charge of his people and the primary
disposer of justice in the land. For this reason, the Ruler is given special mention as one of the seven who will be honoured
with Allaah's Shade.
2 'A youth who grew up in the worship of Allaah...' The great scholar, Ayyoob as-Sakhtiyaanee (d.131H) said, 'From the
success of a youth is that Allaah guides him to a scholar of the Sunnah.' Hasan - Reported in Sharh Usoolis-Sunnah of al-
Laalikaa'ee (no.30).
3. 'A man whose heart is attached to the mosques...' O Allaah send blessings upon him, O Allaah have mercy upon him...'
Narrated by Abu Hurairah & collected in Saheeh al-Bukhari (eng. trans.) vol. 1 p.352 no.620).
4. 'Two men who love each other for Allaah's sake, meeting for that and parting upon that....' SubhanAllaah! Imagine
being envied by Allaah's chosen Messengers and those who were slain in His Path! Such is the reward of those who love one
another for Allaah's sake.
5. 'A man who is called by a woman of beauty and position but he says: 'I fear Allaah...' This fact is alluded to in the
following Qur'aanic Aayah: 'And as for him who feared standing before his Lord and restrained himself from impure evil
desires, verily Paradise will be his abode.' .
6. 'A man who gives in charity and hides it, such that his left hand does not know what his right hand gives in charity...'
7. '...A man who remembered Allaah in private and so his eyes shed tears.' Our noble Prophet informed us: 'If you knew
what l knew, you would laugh little and weep much.' Narrated by Aboo Hurairah and Anas & collected in Saheeh al-Bukhari.
Alhamdulillaah, through these seven types of people mentioned in the Hadeeth, we have been given clear signposts of the way to attain Allaah's pleasure and
satisfaction. So dear brothers and sisters in Eemaan, devote yourself to being one amongst those seven, for indeed fortunate will be those who are granted Allaah's
Shade on the Day when there will be no shade but His.
Extraordinary Angels of Allah and the Wonderful Angel Jibra'il Alayhis Salaam
It has been reported from Hazrat ibn Abi Haatim, Aqueeli and Hazrat Abu Hurairah (radi Allahu anhum) that Sayyiduna Rasoolullah
sallallahu alaihi wasallam has stated, “In the fourth Heaven is a river called Haywaan (River of Life). Each day Hazrat Jibraeel
(alaihis salaam) dips in it and shakes his wings letting off seventy thousand drops. From each of these droplets Almighty Allah
creates one Angel. These Angels are commanded to perform Salaah in the Baitul Ma'moor. As soon as they perform their Salaah,
they come out from Baitul Ma'moor never to return. One Angel from this group is appointed their leader and he is delegated the duty
of taking these Angels to one spot in Heaven where they will stand reciting the Tasbeeh of Almighty Allah till Day of Judgment.”
Jibreel (AS) apportions the commands of Allah (SWT) and is responsible for revelation and war, war being against those who reject
revelation. He is responsible for the light in our heart through bringing us the revelation. He brings us our soul and gives us life by
giving us revelation. Jibreel (AS) has 600 wings… Pearls and diamonds drip from these wings… Hazrat Abu Sa'eed (radi Allahu
anhu) narrates a Hadith of Sayyiduna Rasoolullah sallallahu alaihi wasallam in which he has stated, “Verily, there is a river in
Heaven, in which whenever Hazrat Jibraeel alaihis salaam submerges his wings for bathing in it and shakes his wings, small
droplets of water drip from it. From each droplet, an Angel is created.” Dihya ibn Kalbi (RA) was the most handsome of the
Companions of Muhammad sallallahu alaihi wasallam and it is narrated that he resembled Jibreel.
Umar (RA) who said: “One day while we were sitting with the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alaihi wasallam, there came
before us a man with extremely white clothing and extremely black hair. There were no signs of travel on him and none of us knew
him. He came and sat next to the Prophet (SAW). He supported his knees up against the knees of the Prophet (SAW) and put his
hand on his thighs. He said, ‘O Muhammad, tell me about Islam.’ The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said, ‘Islam is to testify that there
is none worthy of worship except Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, to establish the prayers, to pay the zakat, to
fast the month of Ramadan, and to make pilgrimage to the House if you have the means to do so.’ He said, ‘You have spoken
truthfully or correctly.’ We were amazed that he asks the question and then says that he had spoken truthfully. He said, ‘Tell me
about Imaan (faith).’ The Messenger of Allah (SAW) responded, ‘It is to believe in Allah, His angles, His books, His messengers, the
Last Day and to believe in the divine decree, both the good and the evil thereof.’ He said, ‘You have spoken truthfully.’ He said, ‘Tell
me about al-Ihsaan (goodness).’ The Prophet (SAW) answered, ‘It is that you worship Allah as if you see Him. And even though you
do not see Him, you know He sees you.’ He said, ‘Tell me about the time of the Hour,’ The Prophet (SAW) answered, ‘The one
being asked does not know more than the one asking.’ He said, ‘Tell me about it’s signs.’ He answered, ‘The slave-girl shall give
birth to her master, and you will see the barefooted, scantily-clothed, destitute shepherds competing in constructing lofty buildings.’
Then he went away. I stayed for a long time. Then he (SAW) said, ‘O Umar, do you know who the questioner was?’ I said, ‘Allah
and His Messenger know best.’ He said, ‘He was the angel Jibreel who came to teach you your religion.’ (Muslim)
The Messenger of Allah sallallahu alaihi wasallam said: “When Allah created Paradise, He said to Jibreel: ‘Go and
look at it.’ Jibreel went and looked at it, then came and said: ‘O my Lord! By Thy might, no one who hears of it will fail
to enter it.’ Allah then surrounded it with disagreeable things, and said: ‘Go and look at it, Jibreel.’ He went and looked
at it, then came and said: ‘O my Lord! By Thy might, I am afraid that no one will enter it.’When Allah created Hell, He
said: ‘Go and look at it, Jibreel.’ Jibreel went and looked at it, then came and said: ‘O my Lord! By Thy might, no one
who hears of it will enter it. ‘Allah then surrounded it with desirable things and said: ‘Go and look at it, Jibreel.’ Jibreel
went, looked at it, then came and said: ‘O my Lord! By Thy might and power, I am afraid that no one will remain who
does not enter it.’ [Abu Daud]
Narrated 'Ata bin Abi Rabah: Ibn 'Abbas said to me, “Shall I show you a woman of the people of Paradise?' I said, 'Yes.' He said,
'This black woman came to the Prophet and said, 'I get attacks of epilepsy and my body becomes uncovered; please invoke Allah
for me.' The Prophet said (to her), 'If you wish, be patient and you will have (enter) Paradise; and if you wish, I will invoke Allah
to cure you.' She said, 'I will remain patient,' and added, 'but I become uncovered, so please invoke Allah for me that I may not
become uncovered.' So he invoked Allah for her.' [al-Bukhari].
Hadrat Ma'aaz Bin Jabal has narrated that the Beloved of Allah, Hadrat Sayyidinaa Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wasallam has
said: Allah has bestowed upon me things which He has not bestowed upon other Prophets and He has given me superiority over
them and for my Ummah in sending their Durood upon me, given them the highest station (above other ummahs). An angel has
been appointed on my grave whose name is MANTAROOS whose head is below the Throne and the feet below the earth. He
has 80,000 arms and 80,000 wings in each arm, and each in wing 80,000 hair and under each hair there is a tongue which is busy
reciting Hamd/Praises and Glorification of Allah and asks for forgiveness for those of my ummah who recite Durood upon me.
From his head to feet, he has numerous mouths and numerous tongues and numerous hair. There is not even a handspan distance
between the tongues. His occupation is to recite the Praises and Glorification of Allah and to seek forgiveness for the ones who
send Durood to me. This Mantaroos: the angel does all his life. (Akhrajah Ibn Bishkawaal, Al Qaulul Badee').
Prophet Muhammad, may Allah praise and venerate him and grant him peace, said: “Whenever a worshiper supplicates for blessings
upon me, his request leaves him swiftly and passes over land and sea, through east and west, saying: ‘I am the blessing upon
Muhammad sallallaahu alayhi wasallaam, the chosen one, the best of the creation of Allah, supplicated for by so and so’ and
everything supplicates for blessings upon me. A bird is created from these blessings with seventy thousand wings, each of which has
seventy thousand feathers. Each feather has seventy thousand heads with seventy thousands faces. Each face has seventy thousands
mouths and in every mouth there are seventy thousand tongues. Each tongue glorifies Allah, the Exalted in seventy thousand
languages and Allah will then write for him the reward for all of that.”
Strange Blessings of Darood Sharif:
Hazrat Ahmad Bin Sabit Maghrabi (R.A) said that I have seen many blessings of Darud Sharif, one of which is; I saw a
dream that there is a barren field and there is pulpit (rostrum) in it. I started to climb and climbed up some steps. When I saw
towards ground I came to know that the pulpit is in the air and flying upward and raised up high from the ground. I thought I
should climb on the upper steps up to the point where Allah will lead me, even though there didn’t seem a way to come back.
When I reached on more height and saw beneath, the underneath steps had disappeared, then I looked at right and left, there
was wind everywhere. I prayed to Almighty Allah, O Allah! Guide me to the peaceful path by the blessings of Darood Pak.
After that I saw a thin thread which is stretched in darkness as if it is Pul e Siraat (The Righteous Bridge). I saw this view and said to
myself, “Alas! You reached on Pul e Siraat but you don’t have any virtue except the mercy of Allah and Darood Pak. Suddenly, I
heard the voice of an angel saying, O Ahmad! If you cross the Pul e Siraat (The Righteous Bridge) you will see the Holy Prophet
(PBUH) and his Sahaba (R.A). I became happy and I prayed by the reference of Darood Pak. I saw that a cloud of light appeared and
it helped me cross the Pul e Siraat and presented me in the respect of Holy Prophet (PBUH). The Holy Prophet PBUH is present and
Hazrat Abu Bakar (R.A) is on the right side, Hazrat Umar (R.A) is on the left side, Hazrat Usman Ghani (R.A) is on the back side
and the Lion of Allah - Hazrat Ali (R.A) is sitting on the front. I requested, O Allah’s Messenger (PBUH)! Be my guarantor. The
Holy Prophet (PBUH) said, “I am your guarantor and you will die in the state of Eman (belief).” I requested for pray, he (PBUH)
said, “you are obliged for the immense recitation of Darood Sharif and avoid the playing (lehv).” Then I turned my attention towards
Hazrat Ali (R.A) and requested him to pray. The Lion of God, Hazrat Ali (R.A) gripped my shoulder and jerked it and I woke up
with the effect of this jerk and my shoulder pained for a while.
Then I considered what that ‘lehv’ was? After that I came to know that there was a quarrel of relatives in which I was involved and
thus deprived of Holy Prophet’s (PBUH) sight for one year. Then I repented to Allah and requested Him with the reference of
Darood Pak that bless me with the sight of your habib; the Holy Prophet (PBUH). I saw for the second time in dream’s world that I
am in the court of Allah Almighty, an angel said, why did you involve in the useless things and quarrels of world and I kept on
requesting, O Allah! (I beg) Your Mercy, O Allah! (I beg) Your kindness, O Allah! (I beg) Your blessings. But the voice (of angel)
was persistent. I afraid to think that I might be Hellish but suddenly I remembered how I can be Hellish, the Holy Prophet (PBUH) is
my guarantor. So I requested in the court of Almighty Allah, O Allah! I recite Darood Pak on your prophet (PBUH) and he is my
guarantor, as I said this I found the Holy Prophet (PBUH) present and saying, “I am the man of favor, I am the man of Entreaty, I am
the man of reference.” Then I listened someone saying is he (me) is Hellish? Allah said, “No, he is in peace from hell.” And I woke
up. I hope from Almighty Allah that He will bless us and will not defame us on the day of resurrection.
An excerpt from Sahih al-Bukhari describes Al-Buraq: “...Then a white animal which was smaller than a mule and bigger than a
donkey was brought to me. The animal's step (was so wide it) reached the farthest point within the reach of the animal's sight. ...”
—Muhammad al-Bukhari, Sahih al-Bukhari[1] Another description of the Buraq: “Then he [Gabriel] brought the Buraq,
handsome-faced and bridled, a tall, white beast, bigger than the donkey but smaller than the mule. He could place his hooves
at the farthest boundary of his gaze. He had long ears. Whenever he faced a mountain his hind legs would extend, and
whenever he went downhill his front legs would extend. He had two wings on his thighs which lent strength to his legs. He
bucked when Muhammad (SAW) came to mount him. The angel Jibril (Gabriel) put his hand on his mane and said: "Are you
not ashamed, O Buraq? By Allah, no-one has ridden you in all creation more dear to Allah than he is." Hearing this he was so
ashamed that he sweated until he became soaked, and he stood still so that the Prophet (SAW) mounted him.” [2]
The story of the last man to enter paradise is a famous hadith contained in both Bukhari and Muslim. Bukhari, Volume 9, Book 93, Hadith 532, Narrated
by ‘Ata’ bin Yazid Al-Laithi on the authority of Abu Huraira … Then Allah will finish the judgments among the people, and there will remain one man
facing the (Hell) Fire and he will be the last person among the people of Hell to enter Paradise. He will say, ‘O my Lord! Please turn my face away from the fire
because its air has hurt me and its severe heat has burnt me.’ So he will invoke Allah in the way Allah will wish him to invoke, and then Allah will say to him, ‘If I
grant you that, will you then ask for anything else?’ He will reply, ‘No, by Your Power, (Honor) I will not ask You for anything else.’ He will give his Lord whatever
promises and covenants Allah will demand. So Allah will turn his face away from Hell (Fire). When he will face Paradise and will see it, he will remain quiet for as
long as Allah will wish him to remain quiet, then he will say, ‘O my Lord! Bring me near to the gate of Paradise.’ Allah will say to him, ‘Didn’t you give your promises
and covenants that you would never ask for anything more than what you had been given? Woe on you, O Adam’s son! How treacherous you are!’ He will say, ‘O
my lord,’ and will keep on invoking Allah till He says to him, ‘If I give what you are asking, will you then ask for anything else?’ He will reply, ‘No, by Your (Honor)
Power, I will not ask for anything else.’
Then he will give covenants and promises to Allah and then Allah will bring him near to the gate of Paradise. When he stands at the gate of Paradise, Paradise will
be opened and spread before him, and he will see its splendor and pleasures whereupon he will remain quiet as long as Allah will wish him to remain quiet, and
then he will say, ‘O my Lord! Admit me into Paradise.’ Allah will say, ‘Didn’t you give your covenants and promises that you would not ask for anything more than
what you had been given?’ Allah will say, ‘Woe on you, O Adam’s son! How treacherous you are! ‘
The man will say, ‘O my Lord! Do not make me the most miserable of Your creation,’ and he will keep on invoking Allah till Allah will laugh because of his sayings,
and when Allah will laugh because of him, He will say to him, ‘Enter Paradise,’ and when he will enter it, Allah will say to him, ‘Wish for anything.’ So he will ask his
Lord, and he will wish for a great number of things, for Allah Himself will remind him to wish for certain things by saying, ‘(Wish for) so-and-so.’ When there is
nothing more to wish for, Allah will say, ‘This is for you, and its equal (is for you) as well.’
‘Ata’ bin Yazid added: Abu Sa’id Al-Khudri who was present with Abu Huraira, did not deny whatever the latter said, but when Abu Huraira said that Allah had said,
“That is for you and its equal as well,” Abu Sa’id Al-Khudri said, “And ten times as much, O Abu Huraira!” Abu Huraira said, “I do not remember, except his saying,
‘That is for you and its equal as well.'” Abu Sa’id Al-Khudri then said, “I testify that I remember the Prophet saying, ‘That is for you, and ten times as much.’ ‘ Abu
Huraira then added, “That man will be the last person of the people of Paradise to enter Paradise.”
POWERFUL DUA E ISME ILLAHI
After praying, we must resign our fate to Allah, the results are in His Care. In God is blessing, leave it to God. In each
intent, there is the secret intention for the Creator's love and approval, to get close to Him. Continue to improve
confidence, patience, recite daily without fail. God willing, God will accomplish the purpose, bi idznillaah. Laa haula
walaa quwwata illaa billaahil 'aliyyil' adheem.
1. Take us to a praiseworthy and glorious place on His side – This is the promise of Allah SWT who will raise His people to a
praised place, for those who perform the tahajud prayer diligently and sincerely expect the pleasure of the Divine. Getting a
commendable place, a special place in the sight of Allah SWT is a dream worthy of being held close to the millions of faithful
people. “Indeed, the righteous (will be) in Gardens and springs, Taking what their Lord has given them. Indeed, they were before
that good-doers. They used to little of the night [what] sleep. And in the hours before dawn, they would ask forgiveness.” (Adh-
Dhariyat 51:15-18)
2. Deliver prayer and hope – Tahajud prayer is one of the main Sunnah worship and is an effective medium to deliver our prayers
to Allah. We can hope and prayers about the life, about the dream of building a sakinah family, and a plea for the presence of a
continuing flow of guidance in the ritual of tahajud prayer. “Every night Allah Tabaraka Wa Ta’ala descends (to the heavens of the
world) when it is the third of the last night. He said: “Whoever calls me, I will allow his appeal. Whoever asks me, I allow his
request. And whoever asks forgiveness of Me, I forgive him. “ (HR Bukhari and Muslim)
3. Become humble
Allah SWT asserts that people who pray tahajud will always have a humble and friendly nature. The serenity that is a reflection of
the tranquility of the soul in living everyday life in society will make us humble.
“And (the) slaves (of) the Most Gracious (are) those who walk on the earth (in) humbleness and when address them the ignorant
ones, they say, “Peace.” And those who spend (the) night before their Lord, prostrating and standing.” (Al-Furqan 25:63-64)
4. Maintain health – Undoubtedly, Tahajud prayer becomes the best treatment therapy of various diseases. Therefore, people who
familiarize themselves for Tahajud will have the immune system so not susceptible to disease. Rasulullah SAW said, “Do night
prayer because it is a tradition of pious people before you, a means of getting closer Allah, prevention of sin, erasing wrongdoings,
and preventing all kinds of diseases from the body.” (HR Tirmidhi)
5. Keep the good looks or beauty – Every human must crave good looks or beauty in him/her. Through Tahajud prayer therapy, a
person can achieve what he wants without spending even a penny. The guarantees of good looks or beauty resulting from the
Tahajud prayer are not limited to the birth appearance. It also can produce inner beauty. Rasulullah SAW said, “Whoever is doing a
lot of night prayers, then the face will look handsome or beautiful in the daytime.” (HR Ibnu Majah)
6. Accelerate the achievement of goals and sense of security – In addition to efforts, we need to do Tahajud prayer because the
prayer that accompanies Tahajud will be granted by Allah. Allah will give us the goals that we want and sense of security to make
our life easier. “I have given him what he expects (goals) and gives a sense of security from what he fears.” (HR Ahmad)
7. Eliminate laziness and lust – Tahajud prayer is a powerful way to eliminate laziness and lust. Doing it at night will make us more
ready to welcome tomorrow. The greatest enemy in man is lust. Implementing tahajud prayer may be a bit heavy for some people
because it looks at the timing of the work on the hours where we usually fall asleep. The temptation to go to bed is certainly very big
at that time. Therefore, the person who wakes from his sleep to perform tahajud prayer means he has managed to resist the
temptation in him for the worship of Allah SWT.
8. Gain relief in the afterlife – Another virtue of the tahajud prayer is the waivers of the final day. Every person must have a record
of sins and rewards that will be accepted in the afterlife. If the record of his deed more, undoubtedly the paradise place. However, if
on the contrary, of course, hell is the right place. “Whoever is happy when he stands on the Day of Resurrection is alleviated by
God, let him show himself to God at night by prostrating and standing on the last day.” (Ibn Jarir Ath-Thabari)
9. Become closer to Allah – The benefit of tahajud prayer is a medium to get closer to Allah SWT. This is confirmed by the
statement of the hadith Rasulullah SAW: “You should perform night prayer because the night prayer is a habit of the pious before
you, the worship that draws closer to your God, and the covering of the guilt and the erasing.” (Tirmidhi, Al-Hakim, Baihaqi)
10. Obtain a variety of glory – The five virtues in that world are to be nourished by Allah from all kinds of disasters, the sign of his
obedience will appear to his face, will be loved by the servants of Allah who are pious and beloved by all humans, his tongue will be
able to utter words that contain wisdom and will be a wise man, given the understanding of religion. These are promised by Allah for
glory in the world. “Whoever performs tahajud prayer well, and with an orderly manner, then Allah will give 9 kinds of glory: 5
kinds in the world and 4 kinds in the afterlife.”
11. Recognized as Special Person – Whoever does tahajud prayer will be look as special person in Allah SWT ‘s Eyes. It is because
this prayer is done at night and it is the special and solemn time with Allah. “So be patient, for (the) Command (of) your Lord, for
indeed, you (are) in Our Eyes. And glorify (the) praise (of) your Lord when you arise, And of the night, glorify Him, and after the
stars.” (At-Tur 52:48-49)
12. Prevent doing sin and remove evil – Tahajud prayer can prevent us from committing sin and wipe out evil. This is because it is
performed during the night where many acts of sin and evil can occur at night, such as the desire to steal, kill, and have sex.
“You should do qiyaamullail, in fact, it is a habit of the righteous before you, approach yourself to Allah Ta’ala, prevent sin, remove
evil and ward off disease from the body.” (Narrated At-Turmudzi, Al-Hakim)
13. Cast out Satan – Satan always tries to disturb us in many ways. One of them is to give a whisper/temptation so that we do not
pray tahajud such as the desire to sleep, tired, and so on.
“Satan is binding with three ties. Each of them says, ‘You still have a long night, go to sleep!’ If he wakes up in the name of God,
then a bond is released. If he performs ablution, then loose the next bond. And if he does the prayer, then let one more bond, so that
the next day he becomes diligent, as well as with his soul. Otherwise, the next day his soul becomes dirty and his soul becomes lazy.
” (H.R Muslim)
14. Lead to husnul khotimah – Every living thing will die. Husnul Khotimah will determine we are still in a state of Islam when
our lives are lifted. Husnul khotimah is coveted by all who believe. Husnul khotimah is dead in good condition and guaranteed to
enter heaven. Praying tahajud prayer will remind ourselves to Allah because death will surely pick us up without us knowing.
Hopefully, by continuing to perform tahajud prayer can lead us to husnul khotimah.
15. Face looks shining and glowing – People who always perform tahajjud prayer will look shining in his face. This is a sign that
someone is cautious to Allah SWT. The signs of cautious are always seen by the people around them. “Because they are alone with
their Lord at night, then Allah gives them some of His light.” (Al-Maqrizi, Mukhtasar Qiyaamallail).
Benefits of Tahajjud Prayer – Following benefits one could get by offering Tahajjud prayer:
Tahajud is taken from word tahajjada which similiar word by istaiqozha, the means wake intentionally or intentionally for not sleep. It usually
happens in the night, so it is called as “shalatul-lail/qiyamul lail”. Night prayers are found in a lot of explanations about tahajud prayer (qiyamul
lail), as Allah said in Holy Qur’an: "And as for the night, keep awake a part of it for additional prayer for you to a Station of Praise and Glory.” In
the other verse, Allah describes good people's activity as follows: “They were in the habit of sleeping but little by night, and in the hours of early
dawn, They were found praying for Forgiveness.” In a tradition, Abu Hurairah said, “Prophet Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wasallam was asked,
“Which is the best prayer after fardhu prayer?” Our prophet answered, “midnight prayer.” They asked again, “Which one is the best fast after
Ramadhan fasting?” He answered, “Fasting in Muharram.”
Tahajud prayer usually is done alone (munfarid), and is not limited in number, but at least two raka’ah. The most major is we concluded 11 raka’ah
or 13 raka’ah, with 2 raka’ah prayer iftitah. Way (quality) it is good that every 2 raka’ah ended a greeting. As Rasulullah SAW explained: “Evening
prayers are two-two.” (HR. Ahmad, Bukhari, and Muslim).
• Praying Intention-Niat – This is such as other prays, only say in heart, the most important in intention only because Allah Ta’ala by the sincering
heart and hoping His willingness.Praying tahajud intention inside heart with takbiratul ihram. Praying tahajud opening by 2 raka’ah fluent. As well
as perform tahajud praying at home. From Zaid bin Tsabit ra. that Rasulullah said: “Let us pray at home! Because as good as someone prays is at
home except fardhu prays.”(HR. Bukhari and Muslim)
• Continuation in performing tahajud prayer is suggested. “The work which Allah loves is the the constant small good acts.” (Bukhori and Muslim)•
As well as when had awaken to pray, also wake our family up. Rosulullah said: “God pities a man who got up to pray in the night, and wake his
wife. If she did not wake up, then splash her in the face with water. Similarly, God pities the woman got up to pray in the night, also making her
husband. If he refused, spray his face with water.” (HR. Abu Daud). The Prophet SAW said: “if the husband making his wife the night to pray for
both two raka’ah prayer, then recorded in both groups (women/men), which is always pro dzikir.” (HR. Abu Daud)
• Read Al-Fatihah – Read one of surah from the holu Qur’an, as possible first raka’ah read surah Al-Ikhlas. And the quality explained by Friends of
Said Ibnu Yazid, that prophet Muhammad SAW, night prayer 13 raka’ah, as follows:
1. 2 raka’ah prayer ifftitah
2. 8 raka’ah prayer tahajud
3. 3 raka’ah prayer witir
The letter read in prayer on first raka’ah tahajud after surah Al-Fatihah is surah Al-Baqarah varse 284-286. While in the second raka’ah after
reading the letter off Al-Fatihah is the letter of Ali Imron 18-19 and 26-27. If documents are not yet know very well, so can read the letter that has
been in the memorize. The total raka’ah tahajud prayer actually no border in total maximum tahajud prayer raka’ah. But, the most important is not
more than 11 raka’ah.
• Ruku while read tasbih three times
• Iktidal while read the reading
• First sujud while read tasbih three times
• Sit between two sujud while read the reading
• The second sujud while read tasbih three times
• After finished the first raka’ah, do up the second raka’ah as way above, then the last tasyahud. After finsh it, so read salam twice and the next
raka’ah same like example above• After having finished tahajud prayer, read the easy dzikir (Allah-Allah-Allah), better more in istighfar, make
internal dialogue with Allah, tell whatever in your heart, then close by prays
A. Tahajud in Various Aspects – The Eminence, Advantages, and Peculiarity of Tahajud Prayer
Tahajud in healthy aspect Praying for healthy is a defense perfect system for the doer and also the clothes for people who believing because pray is
direct command from the God and made without anything tendention which only from Him. Allah said in the holy Qur’an in the letter of Al Anfal
24: “Who believe! Give your response to Allah and His Messenger, when He Calleth you to that which will give you life, and know that Allah
Cometh in between a man and his heart, and that is He to Whom Ye shall (all) be gathered.”
Tahajjud prayer must be done after sleep (though briefly). What are the benefits? Must wake up more refreshed our minds. Imagine
in 1 day, our hearts beats 100.000 times, our blood flows through 17 million miles an artery, vein, and blood vessels.
Weunknowingly daily average of 4000 words we speak, breathe 20.000 times, moving the large muscles as much as 750 times, and
operates the 14 billion brain cells. Humans need a break. And sleep is a very good rest according to medical science. By means
going to bed recovery process of cells, the addition of strength, and our brains back to perform Tahajjud done after sleep. With a
fresh mind will help us to more khusyu’ interpret the verses of Allah that we read. Reading at night is more impressive than in the
day, why not? People who the hobby is “break-break an” (ORARI), they prefer to communicate in the evening at approximately
2.00 to 4.00, because the noise generated at the time was more good and clear enough, though very far-reaching power. Unlike the
daytime, the sound is not so clear breaker for many a disturbing frequency.
This indicates, wake up in the middle of the night and pray Tahajjud is very good to communicate with Allah. And communication
that we do everything based n the beam energy. The author had an interesting experience for someone who was middle-aged when
he spoke in a forum, which said he was so polite hearing, his face a confident and pleasing to the eye, has a strong character to affect
those who interact with it. On an occasion, someone asks, “What’s the secret about the relative advantages have been?” He answered
with a short and polite, “Discipline yourself by praying Tahajjud!”
2. Tahajjud Psychologic Aspect – Prayer is a special worship is Islam tuition, whether viewed from the orders received by
Muhammad directly and dimensions of the others. This prayer is the only revelation received by Muhammad without intermediary
Jibril or the other. In the view of experts, contains elements of prayer is therapeutic for human health. According to Djamaluddin
Ancok, as quoted by Haryanto, there are several therapeutic aspects contained in the prayer, among other aspects of the sport, aspect
of meditation, aspect of auto-suggestion, and aspects of companionship. In addition it also contains elements of muscle relaxation,
katavsis aspect. Moreover, compulsory of prayer working every day added by mustahab worship or prayer, especially the suggestion
that in doing tahajud no limit of raka’ah, just until dawn, or the entry time for Subuh prayers.
